In his book "We the North", Doug Smith wrote about how some Raptors live in a building that is connected to Scotiabank Arena by an enclosed walking path, so they don't have to go outside during the cold winters. I wonder if many of the players live like this. It pops this bubble that we have that professional athletes are really connected to their cities, when Pascal doesn't know how to pronounce Spadina after being here for 5 seasons. When Kawhi was on Serge Ibaka's cooking show, they planned on going to Caribbana, but I think that it was just for show. I don't think that Kawhi actually went. To the Raptors: Seriously. Get out of the downtown core from time to time, and explore our city. It's a really big place with lots of interesting neighborhoods. Enjoy it while you're here. You'll miss this place when you go to another city.
