Amaretto in tiramisu is not in the 'original' recipe, but it is still very common to soak the savoiardi (ladyfingers)in alcohol, such as Marsala wine, amaretto or a coffee-based liqueur.

The Netherlands has a rich history in Artificial Flavoring. In the early 1900's a family started a business called 'Chemische Fabriek Naarden' where they experimented with flavors and odors for food. The business is sold many times, but still is located in Naarden. It think it is a swiss company now. But that's where the good flavors come from. I am not surprised that the the Pizza eggs, really taste like pizza. But your both reactions to this one is priceless!!

Geweldig om te zien hoe juliie zo oefenen met en in het Nederlands. Met veel geduld zal het steeds iets beter gaan, en voor je het weet ben je 3 jaar verder en kunnen juliie urenlang gesprekken volgen en voeren in een andere taal dan Engels 😊. Vlaflip is a Dutch dessert. You can make it yourself. Look it up.

It's a layer or Vanille Vla, a layer of yoghurt and fruit sirup.

needed: Vanille vla, greek or volle yoghurt, berries of choice, fruitsirup of coice (Roosvice, Cassis siroop, Raak vruchtensiroop etc) powdered sugar, whipped cream (last two optional) Take a wide glass like a whiskey glass. pour layer of vla, pour a bit of sirup, pour layer of yoghurt, put berries on, repeat layers till glass is full, cover with whipped cream and powdered sugar... done Alternatively you can make your own berrie sauce by mixing berries with some powdered sugar in a blender till smooth and glossy.

Try finding a bottle of advocaat or, the milder version, tokkel room. It is egg with an alcohol we call brandwijn. I think it translates to brandy. It has a "vla" consistency and you eat it with a spoon. It goes really well on top of chocoladevla

Wow you spent a little fortune on paaseitjes! I have never even seen nor tasted these flavours! I would be curious to try coconut (Bounty), peanut, Nutella, Bastogne pistache if they existed. Vlaflip is a desert of yoghurt, vanillevla and strawberry syrup. Jamin is pronounced jah-mìn, with the emphasis on Min Good luck with achieving 25k subscribers!

advocaat is an alchoholic drink. And vla-flip is most of the time a yoghurt/vanilla vlan with sirup inbetween the vla and yoghurt. bokkenpootjes is a cookie

Living in Germany not too far from the Dutch border, my wife and I often go to Maastricht and Roermond for licorice and pralines, but we never knew that the chocolate eggs were such a "thing" over there. Today, we visited Jamin and took some paaseitjes home. Of course the pizza one among them. My wife and I just tried those and... well... mostly chocolate taste and we found no hints of tomato taste whatsoever, maybe a bit of cheese, but mostly chocolate. More like what other companies sell as "Melba". Which is not to say that they were bad. We would definitely eat them again! Thanks a lot for the video, or we would never have known about the paaseitjes! P.S. If you should ever visit Monschau near the German-Belgian border, you should visit the local mustard mill. And besides the 50 or so types of mustard, they also sell mustard pralines. And they actually taste like mustard, but they are still really tasty. Definitely recommended to be tried!

Door jullie heb ik nu voor het eerst Hema eitjes gegeten de tompoes en de strookwaffel zijn lekker. Zijn jullie al naar de hollandse Biesbosch geweest nu jullie in Dordrecht wonen. Je kan met de fiets de waterbus nemen vanaf het centrum en gewoon je OV gebruiken. Mischien leuk om te doen in de lenten of zomer. Nu is het nog veel ste nat en koud.

Have you tried the easter assortiment from a real Patisserie in your area? These places specialise in chocolate products, and they mostly use higher quality ingredients. They do tempt to be higher in price though.

Mix some strong black coffee with Amaretto. Then carefully dip some "lady fingers" (called lange vingers here in NL) and use these as the basis/bottom when making Tiramisu 😜. Jullie moeten echt een keer bokkenpootjes proberen; die zijn echt heel lekker. En ik weet niet of jullie bekend zijn met bitterkoekjes en mergpijpjes, dan zou ik die ook aanbevelen. Bokkenpootjes zijn knapperig en luchtig, en de uitenden hebben een laagje chocola. Mergpijpjes hebben dat ook, maar zijn zachter en groter dan bokkenpootjes. Bitterkoekjes zijn rond en erg taai. Ik weet het: bitter en taai klinkt niet alsof het lekker zou moeten zijn, maar ze zijn echt de moeite waard.

I'm not sure if there has been a comment earlier about JAMIN, but if you don't mind... the correct pronunciation of 'Jamin' is more like zjamín with a soft z and the stress on the i. The suikerspin taste of Jamin used to REALLY taste like suikerspin, but the last 2 years it changed, and not as yummy anymore. I am for sure gonna give the pizza flavor a try, and het puddingbroodje and mimosa and limoncello. My favorite ones are the white chocolat with raspberry flavor or citrusflavors. The original advocaat and mint flavor.

I am a longtime subscriber, so I watch all your content, but this description: 'We ate pizza chocolate easter eggs', made me want to see it rightaway! I wasn't dissapointed! You have informed us about the average amount that ductchmen eat...I say one thing: don't put a bowl with easter eggs in the office! Within an hour! Maximum! People in the office will tilt the scale (far) above the average. (I know that is impossible with an average.) You came across some weird named paaseitjes. Because of the (big) choice in the shops, I would not try it, but it is fun to see/hear what you think about it 🙂The pizza easter egg topped that it. Really! Advocaat = 1. Lawyer, 2. A liquor based on/with eggs. Preferrably drank with whipped cream on top. About your videos. You can really see that you are well prepared. As a Dutchman myself, I feel informed and I am looking forward to visit the places you have visited, too. That said, I am also looking forward to your 25k subscriber video. The one you want to present in Dutch 😀 Tip. Try rumbonen. 🙂 You can find them basically everywhere, but you better ask an employe from the shop (supermarket or a shop from Jamin). It will be near the cookie section and in the section with sweets for coffee and tea (I don't really know the name of the section. I am too busy scanning for rumbonen 😀) Keep up the good work!

Official, nougat is the chewy candy like you know from the USA. The brittle crumble is officially called nougatine but many people are calling it nougat as well. And to make it even more difficult, in some countries in Europe (like Germany) nougat mostly refers to hazelnut creme like Nutella. And the pronunciation of Jamin is "Jah-MIN" with the accent on the second syllable, not the "JAH-men" you made of it.

Leuke video! Wel, ik ben een Nederlander. Maar ik heb nog nooit al die verschillende smaken geprobeerd. Ik heb ook niet een dergelijk breed aanbod aangetroffen in de supermarkt. Ik neem aan dat jullie die paaseitjes hebben gekocht bij een snoepwinkel zoals Jamin. In ieder geval heb ik het idee dat er een heleboel smaken zijn die ik helemaal niet lekker zou vinden. Zoveel paaseitjes eten vind ik best knap want je zult veel suiker hebben binnengekregen.

When you find them, they should go in a basket fist and then you mom saus you can eat a couple 🤷🏼‍♀️ Tradition 😂 Then my mom boiled the real eggs and we painted them and ate them for breakfast. Not sure if more dutch people have this tradition but, every easter we parents of 3 kids hide a bunch of chocolate easter eggs in our garden early in the morning before our kids are awake. When they wake up they are allowed to look for the eggs in the garden. So you have 3 kids running around in the garden which is a lot of fun to see. As kids get older, they get smarter and one time the went straight for the exact spots where we hid them.. All eggs were found within minutes and we asked ourselves how that could be possible. Then we found a piece of paper that looked like a map if the garden with crosses on it, marking the spots where the eggs were hidden. Turned out the 3 of them secretely have been observing us when we were hiding them from a window above. This tradition extends way back to my own childhood but I'm not sure if it is typically something dutch. We just maintained it and I'm sure our kids will do the same.
