My worst RNG was when I went through the entire Y game with very little trouble and then got freeze haxed to death by the first girl in Victory road with her Weavile. It haxed my houndoom to death, froze my umbreon to death, then crit 1 shot my Cacturne, freeze haxed Bisharp to 5 hp, and crit 1 shot malamar with Ice Punch. Luckily my rules allow the use of revives ONLY if I have them, and only if their found or gifted. I had 2 so I got Houndoom and Bisharp back. But damn.

@@aceknight6622 I did, but they required hella grinding and I wanted umbreon and cacturn. I needed cacturn w sucker punch, giga drain for Seabold's lead, and umbreon was just a powerhouse. I was enjoying malamar's topsyturvy ability. Never used one before.

pro tip: never attack your encounters really early on. most of the time, you can just catch it by throwing balls at it. you risk losing that encounter to an unwated crit or status condition.

But some of their early encounters were legendarys/ fully evolved mons. In a normal game it would be easy to catch weaker pokemon, but those who are stronger usually have a really low catch rate. Uxie is a great example

@@neighbourhood_skull2111 fully evolved aren't really that big of an issue, but you are right when it comes to legendaries. however, you have to take a lot of things into account, like level difference, stats, etc. and not all of their early encounters were legendaries, like the Seel/Yanma and Rampardos/Dusknoir, both completely possible to catch but lost due to burn.

Ok, all you guys in the comments saying these two straight up stole from Jaiden animation or just copied her need to chill and growup. The rules for a Soulink nuzlocke have existed back since 2014 and were originally pitched through platforms like Reddit. Jaden herself even says most people haven't heard of it but she didn't invent it either. She's just promoting a old style she wanted to try. The fact they named the rival Jadien shows their crediting a source of where they got the idea to try it. Millions of nuzlockes existed with everything from standard to softcore, hard-core, randomized or a mono type. Just because someone does a nuzlocke someone else has done, doesn't mean you can or should gang up like they've committed theft. Ok? We're all here for a good time and to watch the chaos. Be adults

Another fun rule u can put in is one of y’all can only have whatever the primary typing of the Pokémon so for instance only one of y’all would have been able to take a fire type at the beginning it’s makes it a lot more fun for team building but also a lot harder

Soul Links are awesome. Couple friends and I are doing a 3-player one and it has been HARD. We just lost another three Pokemon to the inverse trainer who had a Weakness Policy Sturdy Sawk that was terrifying.
