These replicas always make me laugh when people put 33 badges on so it's got Ferrari badges absolutely everywhere including many places it wouldn't have on the real car. I’m all for replica cars. But, to make this car you have to sacrifice an MR2 turbo. Finding a good non turbo MR2 these days is hard, will easily cost you £7000. For a good turbo version you’re looking at anything from £13,000/15,000 minimum. That’s if you can even find a good one. In my opinion, driving a genuine good MR2 Turbo is wayyyyyyy better than driving a replica Ferrari.

You were wondering why it is tired? As someone who has fitted one of these kits for a customer, they are an awful fit You need to fabricate tons of custom brackets just to pull the body panels into shape, then use tons of filler to get the gaps to line up, it's no surprise that paint has started to crack and chip if it's been sat for a while, all of the panels are likely under tension

the problem isn't the width of the spacers, it's the calculated offset of the wheel and spacer combo. Having 80mm of spacers isn't bad for the wheel bearings at all if paired with a higher offset wheel. It's really only the moment you are worried about from the fixed point (bearing). You must compare standard wheel specs to the specs of the wheels fitted (including spacer width) to determine if this is in any way bad for your bearings.
@lolly16654118 күн бұрын
Just no. Just absolutely no. If you already spend so much money on a Kit that would require 80mil spacers - GET A FUCKING SET OF WHEELS THAT FIT...
@nedclarke271618 күн бұрын
@ not really relevant to my argument. All I was saying is that spacers are not necessarily bad for your bearings, having wheels that fit this body kit without spacers would not be nicer to the bearings at all, it’s simple physics. Unless you care about the extra unsprung weight of the spacers or the look of them, there’s zero issue doing it this way

I remember wearing Edwins jumper when I worked for Land Rover back in 2007 😂

Looks like a Rev 2 Mr2 turbo 1992. Rev 2 onwards some had lsd fitted on the rev 2 turbos. Rev 1 are all open diff. Also a rev 2 engine and subframe. Take off that blow off valve by the intercooler as it already has the stock one fitted to. Good service and a electronic boost controller to 1.1 bar with a filter and exhaust you can achieve around 260ish bhp. 172 is very very low but probably losing boost. Looked like it, judging by thay boost gauge! Likely caused by that 2nd blow off valve being fitted and it needing a service. Good fun cars those ferrari mr2s especially the turbo models 😎

Not all rev1 were open diff. My old 1991 rev1 turbo came from the factory with a LSD.

I love the narrative of "if you have a fake Ferrari, Ferrari will sue you" then proceeding to refer to the replica as the "Ferrari 355" about 50 times 😂

Still a cool looking car. I would definitely badge it and make just enough changes to make it copy right free then drive the crapnout of it. TDC continues to crush it. Edwin for President!

I love that on the DVLA website it's registered as 'TOYOTA F355 REPLICA'. Such a neat touch! :D

Its like the peugeot 406 coupe pininfarina. That also has a ferrari kit. Looks pretty legit!

If you want to run a bit more power without going bonkers, swap out your CT26 for a CT20B and set it for 1.0bar of boost. Ideally you'd replace the fibre head gasket with a metal one also, but that's getting right into it and comes with a cost.

+1 plus consider the fact without fueling and standalone it’ll at best get close to 280hp even with a ct20b (not as tasty cams and inlet manifold as the gen3s have that make getting to 300hp easier). There is ALOT of work to get a rev1/2 to 370hp which is what it sounds like they trying for!
