Would recommend any doors you take out that are original to keep them along with the door surrounds.

This has so much potential, but please reconsider getting rid of beautiful mature plants. They form the entire structure of your garden, give privacy, are good for wildlife and will take at least a decade to replace.

100% if youre taking out loads you need to do it over several years so wildlife can adjust.

Probably annoying having advice from a youtube comment but since I have some ( too much ) experience with log burners... If a log burner is fitted by an HETAS accredited installer then it would require an air vent in the room, unless it's fed from the rear - so if you have neighbours on the backside of that wall, then you'll need a vent somewhere in the room - either through the floor if you have suspended flooring and an air brick nearby, or the wall itself, if you don't have neighbours then it'd be ideal to feed the log burner directly from outside via the back of it, which adds a small amount to the cost, although that can be DIYed, and then you wouldn't have any draft coming in. Woodwarm Stoves can help you out if you're in doubt. I have two of their log burners and they work great, and I don't work for them before anyone asks :) Anyway, all the best to you two with your house, looks like a great project. You might find a nice arch above that fireplace once you peel back the plaster btw, they were common place at some point.

It depends on the size of the room. Eg anything more than 5kw would need an air vent but not necessary every time for stoves smaller than 5kw. Best to take measurements of the room to the stove company/installer to check

You have achieved a lot in a short time. That space under the stairs is wasted as it is currently. I would probably take the panels off the wall under the stairs in the hallway and create extra storage for things such as the ironing board, brooms, vacuum cleaner etc.. The Pantry could be gutted, relined and maybe house your washing machine, along with your hot water heater and some shelving.

@@katbar6066 thanks for sharing your advice, the space under the stairs goes into a storage cupboard in the garage that we love and is housing all of our garden tools :)

@@katiehaworthh_ Ah- That is unusual but at least you are able to use the space. Looks like you have a big job ahead so I am going to have to subscribe! 😄😄

For the sake of wildlife, please only gradually remove large and mature plants (like over the course of several years) if you have any consideration for the environment!! I'd have probably put the sink inbetween toilet and bath so it doesnt feel closed in as you walk in.

My advice dont get knocked up as this will take every bit of money you were going to spend on the house. Get the house done first otherwise you'll be sitting in a half finished house regretting it. Then if you really need to completely complicate your life start breeding. Watch Michael Macintyre re leaving the house post.
