Hello Jonathan. I bought a 1975 topagee about 15 years ago. I fully restored it, taking about 2 years on and off. I still own it. I like the way you set up your topagee on 4x4 wheels. 😊

Thanks for letting me know. These are pretty cool! Do you still get to go out? I'm making a few minor changes but it's pretty much perfect for me. Did you buy a brand new canvas or did you seal the existing? I'm tossing up a few products to restore the canvas/waterproof. Care to share what you did?

@JCYT I got one custom made down at Illawarra canvas Dapto. $3600 with front and back additional roll up bed end covers from roof.. but that was about 12 years ago.

Hey Mate If you have brake problems I would get a Marks hydraulic brake booster. Best mod you can do. I have one and it is amazing.
@JCYT3 ай бұрын
Thanks mate Yes it's been recommended to me! Once they are back in stock, i will be trying out a set of brake pads front and rear. But will consider the hydraulic booster if it comes to that

I see 70 series build, I click subscribe. Your 79 is on sport tuned suspension, it looks different than other, it looks more stable.

Cheers man I think its definitely well set up compared to others you may see on socials. Low centre of gravity and doesn't flex like a patrol. Definitely closer to the OEM design 👌

Hey mate, first time commenter and new 79 series owner. Running a jayco Hawk (1250kg) and ball weight ~150kg - packing is key to optimise the ball weight. Never seen a tomagee but it looks light and you’ll get up plenty of tracks with such a light load. Keen to see how you go with ARB parabolics/airbags - still running stock but the canopy’s coming so we may be doing the same. Great channel mate, keep exploring.

Hey mate thanks for letting me know! I was quite interested in the jayco finch too but this was much cheaper. Is the 150kg ball weight manageable? I'm planning to shuffle some weight around but really with the layout there's not too much i can do. But i'd love to add 2 jerry can holders + relocate gas and shower to the back + some sort of compartment for firewood. In my head that should help quite a bit! Will be doing a video for the spring/bag combo. It's getting fitted in August, so come back for that!

Airbags will fix the sagging rear end. I put some AIRBAG MAN bags in my old 2003 Hilux ute on sagged stock rear leafy's and they carried heavy load no problem & when empty I ran 20P.S.I in them & they rode nicely. Airbags will give you adjustability that rear leafs simply can't.

I agree dusty but the spring pack must really be doing most of the work. The airbagman kit on my old hilux worked very well to carry the load but became a bull to ride offroad. Had about 20-30psi in them. Ended up fitting a pump and a tank as it needed frequent adjustment. Even going from sealed to unsealed roads... then it restricted the fantastic flex the hilux had. The new ARB bags have a runflat design. I think they are made by airbag man but let's see when they get here. I'm really hoping for a better experience 🙏 Cheers for the feedback mate

LC79 brakes still lacking? I take it that you don't have the DBA XP pads on all four corners then.

@@JCYT Why wait? at about $260 for a full set of XP pads available online on that popular website. You won't regret fitting them, they really do make a big difference when it comes to stopping power on the Landcruiser even on stock rotors.

@@dustyfarmer I tried ordering the pads today. Out of stock from DBA until September!

@@JCYT I get mine from a ebay shop at Dapto and they are good on price & availability. I always buy spare sets front & rear so I always have replacements in stock ready to fit as the supply issue has been happening since the C19 virus took hold of the DBA XP brake pad machine.
