Why on earth would you put an 800 dollar on sale turbo to a fkin cast log manifold? That’s just foolish and wild, you’ve already spent more on a turbo than you should have for this motor you should have bought a better manifold. It’s like wiping before you crap. It doesn’t make sense
@JCYT
@JCYT 6 күн бұрын
I can understand why you may think this way. The beauty of a custom kit is being able to pick and choose how to spend your money. This is a budget turbo kit and there has to be some compromise between performance and reliability. I choose reliability any day of the week for what i do with this car. This setup is proven now, 7 months on and 5 trackdays without a single mechanical fault. There is no fabricated manifold remotely close to this pricepoint. We don't even have any off the shelf parts let alone turbo manifolds for the D series in Australia. Nothing wrong with cast. They are bloody strong and although their design is not the most efficient, that is the compromise i am willing to spend more on a turbocharger. I'm not sure you make any sense. Would you put a $200 dollar turbo on an $800 manifold?

Wyong Toyota is amazing! My Aug 2020 79 series had a fuel gauge that stopped working. I took it to both Rockdale and Sutherland Toyota (same owner) and they wouldn’t fix it as I had an after market PCOR tray and canopy. Fast forward 2 weeks, I broke down on the highway near Wyong and the fuel warning light and engine warning light came on. I had heaps of fuel, turned out the fuel breather failed and the tank shrunk by 1/3. Towed it to Wyong and they fixed everything, new fuel tank and fuel system plus fixed the fuel gauge. It did take 3 months for the parts to come in, however they kept me informed, they paid for the tow and returned the cruiser like new. Legends.

Mate you are a pro best 12v video out! I just have a quick question I saw you have ran power from the start battery to the manager 30. And all your negatives to a common terminal on the back of the board going to the shunt before auxiliary battery. My question is have you grounded the auxiliary battery separately or is the feed from the start battery all you need ?
@JCYT
@JCYT 20 күн бұрын
Hey mate sorry i actually don't remember exactly and i realised i didn't show this well in the video. What i believe i did was run both positive and negative from the starter battery to the manager 30 (not just one positive feed). Yes it's extra work, but personally i don't like grounding to the chassis. This comes straight from the manual "The Manager30 is capable of drawing up to 50A from the Vehicle Battery (which may be several metres from its installation location) and is limited to 30A output to the House Battery. The installer needs to ensure the appropriate cable is used to connect the positive and negative connections of The Manager30 to both the Vehicle Battery and the House Battery." Appreciate your feedback!

@@JCYT ok I get that thanks, and the negative common lug on your 12v board is the one that handles all the loads from accessories and inverter ? I’m just having trouble figuring out if I need to run a really large negative cable to chassis that can handle a 2000watt inverter and accessories which would be very hard to push through a canopy wall or body gland cheers!

You need a 90° camera for truer distance perception of following vehicles, distance to following vehicle will be close to actual whereas the typical 110 &120° are like convex side mirrors. You don't need the camera up high either, it's better down lower around the height of your tray or side rear vision mirrors, best for more level view of following traffic as with your mirrors.
@JCYT
@JCYT 20 күн бұрын
Hey mate thanks for the feedback! I think i will try a 90 degree camera. Mine is a 120. I do like having the camera up that high. Was particularly helpful at the boat ramp last week. But i can see how that would help with perception.

I have a question I think you would be able to help with, have you ever had g101 and g151 issues? Well only conclusion I came up with is because the car sits and dielectric grease is the wrong grease to use because it won’t sweat out condensation. I was getting like flash pop ups in data as error codes for literally every sensor, cleaned everything it all went away, car was fine for a year as it ran heat and there and the last year it has been in storage pulled it out yesterday and it’s back. I read about this, dielectric grease locks in moisture that’s in the metal and it can’t be passed threw that particular grease, I’ve tried carbon grease it’s not that great of conductor and theoretically neither is dielectric grease. What would be best to apply to this besides oil Evan tho I know oil will separate for the water
@JCYT
@JCYT 20 күн бұрын
Hi mate I'm sorry but have never experienced those issues. To me it sounds like a sensor grounding issue.
