Together with my folks, we bought a small holding in South Africa. In this video I show you the way to get to the farm through the city of East London and out the other side towards the West. I meet with a draftsman to discuss our house plans and where we should build. Follow along from the very start of this epic adventure.

I will say this. It’s a beautiful country to live in but it is super tough day to day. There are some great small holdings in Scotland and Wales which are worth looking at if you don’t want to do a big move.

@@DaleReubin well was never my idea to leave... 1984 was very different time as you know... all my fond memories as a child are from SA and I have never been happy here... plan is to take my 2 boys on holiday there as soon as I finish a house project I'm working on... get a feel for the place again... see how I feel about it, if all good make the move... I still have my SA passport and permanent residents here so was planning on staying SA for 8 months and spending 4 months here of the year until I finally make fulltime move there...BTW watched the fire video... close call that...well done for keeping positive afterwards... ignore the "nay" sayers life's too short...will keep an eye open for anymore videos... Friesland milkshake you bastard! Lol

Damn COVID, spoiled things a bit but things will work out fine, maybe not as planned but maybe better. Patience is important. Keep your head up.

Is it really necessary to use more then 2 minutes (a quarter of the video) showing how you drove to the small holding? You could have used this time showing more of the farm then show us your vehicle trip... at the end of the day it is about your small holding and not you trip!!!

so a year on and boy did you pick the worst time to pack up and return to SA!!! sorry about that - but that's life. key now is to minimise your losses and safeguard your kid's future. so you must accept that Africa is no place for whites or for white kids to be brought up. that is why you left in the first place and it was the right decision. unfortunately living on an isolated farm is not recommended for all types of reasons. any comments

Lol lots of white around his age are now living on small holdings ive seen this with my own eyes, worse after covid people are busy buying small holdings, not everyone will afford to live overseas. We will fix the country and thanks to all white people who are just giving up that easily. I'm a black lady

It all depends on how you look at it, things change so quickly that it's hard to pick a "good time" to do anything. This is our journey for now and although there is trouble here we are happy where we are.

@mathewman what do you mean white children should not be raised in Africa? I guess I agree on the premise that Africa is for Africans and not colonial settlers centering themselves and expecting royal treatment, meanwhile not even considering the Indigenous people of the land they are immigrating to.

you never fix anything and you never will (look at your ancestors, what did they do well in this world?) you seem to be a poorly educated person unfortunately i don't argue with people like you. that is why many of you will remain poor and destitute. you think that it is by stealing what others have built that you will be rich !!! instead of creating your own wealth no you have to go stealing. if the whites leave this country then the country will sink into hell. we are in 2021 and everyone has the right to live where they want and feel at home, there are blacks in england who feel british as well in france, brazil and the united states. there are also white South Africans and black English that's the new world whether you accept it or not it's like that and you won't be able to do anything about it except your gratuitous hatred. unfortunately people with your mentality are the ones who always end up in poverty. barrack obama became president of the united states he was not rejected because his father was black and kenyan. if our ancestors had agreed to cooperate and welcome the explorers believe me that our continent would not be so poor, instead they decided to rebel and they were beaten in a few days. Africa will not change as long as the Africans do not change their mentality, our ancestors sold their brother in slavery for bread and sugar believe that to change? no look at the ANC. I therefore advise you to go and educate yourself to read history books to understand the past. there are great scientists out there like thomas sowel who can help you understand the new world we live in. Dale Reubin: don't be affected by these racist idiots that abound on your youtube channel. you are south african your parents were and their parent too and no one will be able to take that away from you let alone a scoundrel on the internet. I personally left Africa maybe I will return one day but not now. know that your ancestors built some special things there. fight for your country because vultures want to destroy it. the whole world is with you watching you. (by the way I'm black SA)
