That's one of the best smokers for the money. I've had mine several years,and it's paid for itself over and over. I went on Amazon and order lava rock 1000° gaskets(white), heavy duty clamps for the fire box. Then regular high temperature gasket for the cook chamber. After that I made tune plates for the cook chamber. Use cooking spray(saflower oil) to season,and protect the outside. You have a great pit, that will be around for your grandkids. You have a great smoker.

I will say, I have enjoyed using it. Definitely do not regret the purchase and paying up for some quality. I'm sure if I bought something cheaper, I would have been quite discouraged.

Are there any accessories you purchased for your smoker that we didn't mention in this video, or any you recommend that we don't have? Let us know below! Also, be sure to check our parts 2 and 3 of this series! Links are in the description.

I aslo have a brand new Brazos. I did not do any of that stuff because I wanted to see if there was any smoke leakage from the cooking chamber first. I'm glaf I did because I have very little leakage.

That’s definitely my one regret. However, over time, it seems to have worked out in the long run.

Speaking of ashes, for those of you that have flower beds and have no idea what to do with the ashes. Sprinkle them in your flower beds. The plants love the nutrients.

Bought this one last night from Academy after watching this video. Had a guy pick it up this afternoon right as a massive rain storm hit. Now my OCD has kicked in and Im freaking out cause I wasn't planning on seasoning it/cleaning it until a few weeks when my work schedule slows. Should I be concerned?
@FattysFeasts Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be too concerned. You're gonna deal with rust anyway as it ages. Just season it nice and hot and keep applying your oil until the rust goes away. I've seen them kept outside at the store too and there is a good amount of rust on them sometimes. Nothing to worry about!

Correct word in this context is "pail", not "pale." Pale means "light in color." Hope this helps.

Would you say it's worth 1000. plus shipping ?
@FattysFeasts3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I've been using it pretty frequently this year and there is minimal rust starting to form. The thickness allows for easier temp management. I hope to put out a video of my thoughts and opinions next summer, but all in all, I don't think you can find a deal much better than this. Depending on your climate, you could probably save some money and get the pecos, but I needed the thicker metal for the winter months. Also, the customer service is easy to deal with. There was some damage to the door and they refunded my shipping cost.

@@FattysFeasts keep spraying canola spray every other cook on the rust and it'll last forever
@FattysFeasts3 жыл бұрын
@@MyGirlKray1 I actually just started doing that recently and seems to be working great! My bigger issue is rust is forming on the handle near the stack and on the tray that pops out. Not sure what I can do to prevent that really.
