We’re still driving the bus down to Costa Rica! We’ve left it with a friend for the summer. We came to Europe so Louis could visit his family in England, we have a wedding to attend in Italy and then we’re going to visit my family in Bulgaria. So we bought the van to have in Europe (since our families live here we travel here often). But we still have the bus! And will begin the Costa Rica road trip in September ☺️❤️

I would paint the van to cover up the word imprints that were still visible and leave at least part of the reflective strips for safety if nothing else. Have you thought about adding a remote lock so that if you forget to lock the front doors then you can press the key fob. Also, Maybe had a van alarm, some kind of security. I would also buy a piece of plywood that you can use to extend the bed in case Louis decides he wants to stretch out. You can add some back pads that can be used for the extra extension on the bed. Just a thought. Congratulations to the both of you for your engagement. Also, I want to wish you both a fun, safe trip.

Looking forward to seeing this part of your adventure. I lived in Italy for two years (in Florence), so have been quite a bit around Italy. Since you'll be down south in Positano, I definitely recommend heading east and going over to Puglia. It's by far the best region of Italy. Peaceful, dreamy, more affordable, slower pace of life, beachy, etc. Have a great trip! Also, I like the stripes for the exact reason you said- being more incognito!

Having no bathroom does wonders for the space inside that thing. Makes it look a lot more comfortable than Kara and Nates van. But having no easy access to a toilet will probably get extremely inconvenient. Also I feel bad for the way Louis has to sleep. He'll eventually get tired of that. Aside from those 2 things, love it. Excited to see your adventure.

Louis I would find a creative way to put up a removable padded platform that extends the bed on your side so you can sleep lengthwise. I think if you make it one side only, you still keep the ability to use the table if someone is sleeping. I'm 6Ft tall and i can tell you that a single 16 hour flight to the Philippines from LAX in business class is a miserable experience, for 1 day, because I'm like 1 or 2 inches too tall for the seat and have to put a pillow under my knees or go fetal. Feom what I've generally seen, it's a combination of youtube, sponsorships, other projects (like Kara and Nate have their flight scanner website), maybe investments (money from renting, stocks?), good budgeting (using public transportation, choosing budget hotels or airbnbs, spending more time in cheaper countries) AND credit card benefits. Lots and lots of credit benefits.

I was wondering this myself. How do these full time travelers do it? How do they deal with immigration? More specifically, being in countries for an extended period of time and not be kicked out and not being allowed to reenter for a while. Also does one move to another country to live so easily? For example, they bought land in Coasta Rica with plans on living there. My little son passed away this year and I’m overwhelmed with grief. I just want to get out … just get out and breath because I think I’m loosing my mind.
@bbeth43 жыл бұрын
@@MyDeniseN i am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and i hope you’re able to pull through! i believe that they were able to buy land and move down to costa rica because costa rica doesn’t have any rules against people who aren’t citizens buying land. unlike america or canada you don’t need to be a citizen to buy land and live there

I feel having a small bed (a continuous fetus position can get painful. It can be good to sleep like that for some time, but for hours everyday can give backaches) and no toilet/washroom in the van is very impractical swap for just a little more kitchen space. You guys are on the road, it would be a lot easier to find ready-made food than washrooms. And you may need to urgently use a toilet in the middle of the night and in case you are parked on a concrete road ground/parking lot, how would you guys pee and stuff? I'm not hating on your van, but it seems quite impractical for your purpose of travelling. P.S. you may have had some complaints for Kara & Nate's van, but it had all the necessary things for survival. The only better thing in your van is more counter/kitchen space, but it doesn't seem to compensate for the missing things. Idk what 'renovation' you guys have planned, so just pointing out things for now out of concern.

Germany and Switzerland are both extremely beautiful and you could take a ferry down from New Castle/hawrich to Rotterdam with Stenaline for quite cheap. The restaurants on those ferries are surprisingly good as well! You guys should definitely stop by in my city Naples (Napoli), very often overlooked but one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and the place where pizza was invited ofc lol If you guys are going to Positano, you need to be very and I mean very wary of the parking situation on the Amalfi Coast. There aren't any places I can think of you'd be able to park easily, and the few that might be able to fit you guys are private parkings that definitely won't allow you to stay overnight. Just something to consider :)
