They can take it to New Zealand but its still cost thousands. Its cheaper to do another build over seas but as we probably can't travel OS for a few years yet, there is plenty to see in OZ.

Good Choice on the Sprinter, they are such a reliable vehicle, the only "CON" is the electrical equipment often plays up - lights etc..., The travel bloggers " Kara and Nate " from the USA have the same vehicle , I recommend watching their channel for some great tips and lessons they have learned along the way doing up their van and travelling .

Excited for the new van conversion. You should watch KZbin van conversions to get ideas of what you want. Kara and Nate just did a Colorado series and there friend that went with them had a cool top bed for the parents and underneath had a seating area that converted to a bed for his girls. Pretty cool set up

Footnote: its not as big as you think once you line it. I saw on one van build where they used a mattress on top of the kitchen bench for the children with this great bed rail that self tightened.

Good choice. I bought a 13 years old Iveco that had done 340000 km. Spent too much to make it a campervan. Had it for one year until the gearbox broke down. Fixing it would be too expensive, so stripped the van down and sold the parts. Well, fun experience anyway. Good luck on your build.

At least over here in Europe you can purchase preproduced isolation, furniture, etc which are designed to fit in these kind of vans to convert them into camper vans /RVs.

Stephen: you will be able to drive it. Safely. Jess: you can learn that just as well. It just takes a little time to adjust. Once went to England with 2 friends of mine. They turned a VW Transporter (T3) into a camper. With not a single screw, fixing anything. Wish I could send 'em your way, today. Frank is suffering from MS, sadly. And even I cannot just fly over. But: what a great project! I'm german. So: I know some great mechanics here. But down under? Sorry! You live in Perth. Vincent Radice is an expert for BMW (bike) gearboxes around the corner from you. Steve & Jess, we can drive a van to you, as long as you pay for our flights back to Brissy...?! Yahhh?? But seriously there are other options for uplift, Cendant is an executive staff relocation company (sub contract to Banks, large National corps) and they do uplifts to fill their freight at a discount price. They're travelling in that direction anyway and have portions of space leftover to fit single items (car, portion of household furniture etc). Look into that if you have future needs to move things from East. As always a great catchup with you both, and baby Hunter. Much love xx
