I’m headed back up there right after you guys head back to Phoenix from here. I’m going to put the floor system together and in August I’m gonna go up there for two and a half weeks and me and a friend of mine that lives in Michigan are going to frame it up and dry it in. That way it will be waterproof. And when I go up in October this year with your mom, I will install any windows and trim that I can.

You are going to be so happy that you started from scratch with a new cabin. It will be well built and built just how you want it. And you know, it the long run, it may even go quicker than repairing the old one. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

You know Dave, it’s not that I can’t do it. It’s not even that I don’t want to do it, but once I was able to take the time and go completely through the cabin, the evidence was there that it wasn’t a smart thing to do.. I will be going up and putting the floor system in the second week of July. And a good friend of mine lives in bark river just west of Escanaba, I’ve known him for 20 years, he’s going to come over in August 2 weekends in a row and help me with it. I will be up there for about 2 1/2 three weeks and we should be able to get it completely dried in. that’s my goal. When that cabin is finished one of these times, I come up there I’m gonna have to talk you into a fishing trip. My boat or yours it doesn’t matter to me. Talk to you soon.

Every time we went up to work on the property, I kept finding something new that wasn’t quite right. After you guys left, I took a good look at the place from top to bottom. I talked it over with Glenda and we decided we would be further ahead just to start over with a new cabin. Now we have peace in the direction we will go, and I will start building in July.

Joe had a hard time letting go of his original plan. I’m glad he did and I’m excited about having a new cabin. I love everything about this area except that old cabin for a lot of little reasons (mice) But mainly I don’t want him getting hurt on that roof.

Darn, you'll have to get new tools, lumber, concrete and metal works for this job. Boy everyone knows how you hate building things........joking. Have fun make the cabin of your dreams! God's speed and protection, brother.

Well brother, each time we go up there we find a little bit more that needs work. This time we were able to spend a good amount of time looking at everything on the cabin instead of working on egress, trash, cleanup, and everything else. It has some pretty skanky building from definitely a novice. But we did buy it for property value only. the existing cabin will be good enough to be a tool shed and store material while I build the new cabin. It’s not a big one so I should have it dried in sometime in August. I am going up in a couple of weeks to build the floor system and seal it then going up in August and I have a friend of mine that lives just outside Escanaba Michigan that is going to come up two weekends in a row and I will be up there for two full weeks. He’s going to help me frame it up and dry it in and there will be video. Prayers are always welcome. Thanks again.

@@safarijoesadventures Prayers always given. Maybe haul up a skid-steer or a Bobcat to make it easy to move the bags of cement and the larger beams of wood. Our redemption draw nigh, brother.

Hey loudmouth New Yorker. You should have seen him cry thinking about all the new tools he needs to get for this project. Joe can do anything and I look forward to enjoying our new little cabin. Thank you for your support, Mrs. Safari.

What part of the state did you purchase the conex? I am just above the 45 parallel in the mitten. Never thought of a conex. What a great idea.

Well, thank you I appreciate the sub. I will be heading up to my cabin on the week of the Fourth of July and building the floor system and the front porch area. Then I will be headed back up in August to build and dry in the cabin. I will be recording everything for the channel as I go. I hope you will enjoy it. If you have questions or comments as I go along through this endeavor, please ask as I really enjoy meeting and talking with everyone. Thanks again.

I bet that it was not an easy decision to decide to build a new cabin and not rebuild the old one. But I believe that you both will be much happier with the new cabin. Plus the old cabin will make a great tool shed. I'm excited about the new build! Todd from da U.P.

@@FordDude66 well thank you Todd. I am actually at Menards right now picking up my foundation and floor package getting half of it today and I got to come back up tomorrow and get the other half not enough room on my trailer. This will be a working week for me, lol but I’m looking forward to building it and filming it. Talk to you later have a great Fourth of July.
