Our first two campers were pop-up type campers. The first was a Starcraft and the second was a Coleman. My wife was a fourth grade school teacher, therefore she had lots of vacation time. We put lots and lots of miles on both of them and thoroughly enjoyed them. One thing I learned the hard way was to keep checking the stitching on the exterior fabric. We ended up spending a lot of time with her on the inside and me on the outside pushing a needle back and forth to each other. The manufacturers used a cotton thread to sew the canvas but we used a heavier nylon thread. We thoroughly enjoyed them, both! We then graduated to hard sided RV's after that. I really feel for the guy that sold the pop-up to you!! My wife passed away ten years ago from brain cancer. We were married for 47 and one half years wondering how we should celebrate fifty years. I guess we did not need to worry about that, did we? It was only three months from the first indication that something was wrong until she died!! I took her every day for her radiation and chemo! I was not ready to let her go, but I had no choice in. the matter!! ENJOY YOUR CAMPER AND EACH OTHER!! No one knows how much time we have!!

My wife and I have owned several over the years, two key things ALWAYS store it in the dry, and set it up after each use to air out the canvas. they are great for weekends and quick trips.

We started out in a pop-up. Those mattresses are brutal. Good luck with it!

I never left. I believe the pop-up is the only RV type that I have not owned in my lifetime as I now live full-time in a 40 foot diesel pusher and still love it. Thanks for the video.

Still here! Loved the bathroom reno and I’m on board for Polly the Popup. I’ve camped in one before and remember being in it during a severe storm. Not fun. But they are so easy to tow and perfect for a long weekend camping. Just not great in cold weather or Bear country.😂

This sure takes me back. My wife and I bought a Viking pop-up new in 1986, when we set it up after changing the canvas a few years ago, it was all mouse eaten. Had a lot of fun with that thing! Now we have a Road Toad Teardrop, 450 pounds and no canvas or wood to rot or be chewed on.

Yes. Be careful about the mice. They really love that canvas! Big holes along with big nests. Luckily u can repair the canvas. Worst case scenario buy new canvas for 1000$. One trick for the mice are dryer sheets. They hate them. Stuff those everywhere before storing. And make put away dry to avoid the canvas mold.

You can build a tiny house on the base if you get tired of the pop up. Happy travels. 😊

If i bought something old and cheap i would pimp it out in every way possible IF the axle and bearings are good for years to come. They cheaped out on certain year ranges on the axle they put on these. Something that small would be perfect for lifepo4 and solar. I made my solar setup modular so i can easily remove it and use it somewhere else, so it is not a permanent addition like most people do. I would check how the Axle Weight Rating compares to the WET load rating. You will find MANY campers WET rating exceeds the Axle load limit. It was a super shady business practice that i am not even sure they stopped doing that.
