Idk about the 1980 sum but with my yamaha blaster 2003 I use 40 to 1 gear ratio and you should use stihl oil in your gas if you want best performance make sure its 40 to 1 and its the fully orange bottle

Bad idea. Use castor 927. 32:1 for recreational riding 25:1 for racing and a lot of full throttle. 20:1 for balls to the walls everywhere. Never use pre mix not meant for air cooled motorcycles or quads. Stihl is horrible for a blaster motor. Yamalube is also another good one to use. But castor 927 is the best oil to mix. And without a doubt always put non ethanol fuel when mixing. Do not use pump gas.

Blasters are sick. Just wish they were a touch bigger. Like 10-15% bigger they would be so much better. My brother is only 5'7" so hes perfect on it but me being almost 6' with longer arms etc I find myself a little cramped on the days when we focout on long rides. Regardless im having ao much fun at the time that I epnt even think about it at all.
