The 6.0 isn’t bad when left stock but still has issues. When started to modify is when they especially blow up. You can build them it’s just a lot of preventative stuff you have to do before. Overall they still aren’t the best motors but the 6.4 is another story.

Depends o the Auction, Some are fleets changing to newer trucks. kind of like corporate and rental fleets. I'm on my fifth Truck from a rental company on the west coast that has been changing them all out. I got the ones with lower miles (Under 100k.) and have made some money off of them. I got a 2008 like what they got but without all the extras. Most have been the WT (Work Truck) models. They are pretty bare as far as extras go, Some have roll up windows, Which I won't get. My 2008 needs a particulate filter which is $1500. interior is shot as well. I paid $2500 for it. They got a really great deal on that one. they could put another 5k into it and still make money off of it. I believe they are still selling for over $10k., on the west coast anyway, May be different in other states.

I absolutely loved my 6.0. The two worst things for them were a lack of maintenance and putting around town. Get rid of the emissions and work them and they are great trucks. There’s a list of things you can also do. 6.4’s were garbage, 6.7’s are awesome besides the cp4, 7.3’s are old and slow but reliable. I think the 6.0 is a good sweet spot.

Great video! Glad it started for you guys! One suggestion I have is to not have the music when you get it started I know myself and a lot of other people like to just here those diesels crack off after not running in a while and I think the music takes away from that. Also, for future reference if you see that the coolant overflow resevoir is black and not clear anymore and it’s not just dirty on the outside, it can be an indicator that unburnt diesel exhaust is escaping the combustion chamber and getting into the cooling system and is a dead giveaway for a blown head gasket, couldn’t quite tell if your first overflow resevoir was doing that or not. Great video guys you keep finding absolute steals ! Thanks for saving these trucks even though I’m a GM guy!

DUDE Congratulations on an awesome truck!!! Grandpa had 2 6.0s.... his first diesel was a 2000 7.3 F350, chipped. It was a FANTASTIC truck, did nothing but run. It got 150,000 miles on it and he got scared of it, so he traded it and another (96 dually with 460) for 2 new F250 6.0s (2006?) and parked one in the shed and drove the other. After awhile and some miles, he sold the first one and they drove the second. IIRC the second one was a better truck than the first but going from a chipped 7.3 F350 to the stock F250 6.0... they had to work a lot harder than the 7.3 did, the 7.3 acted like it didn't know there was a trailed full of cattle behind it. Now we have another F350 with the 6.2 gas and it might run down the highway okay but it's gutless pulling. Will you do the newer front end conversion like the Excursion? You mentioned maybe Raptor lining it in the other video comments, would you do the same gray or a different color? And it's so awesome that you're using your channel and talents to bless others and I saw another comment below about how nice it is to watch something without the R rated language. The 6.0 is the 2nd to the last of the international motors that Ford used. The 6.4 was the last one, and international knew it would be the last one, so they didn't try very hard. That's why the 6.4 sucked so bad. The 6.0 was decent if left stock. Most people decided to tune and "upgrade" to increase horsepower which led to head gasket issues. If you get the heads studded it helps. The predecessor was the 7.3. that is what I have and would not trade it for anything. Reliable and does everything I ask if to do. All stock.

Id rather have a Ford over a dodge everyday - I told someone the other day, the reason why you buy a Cummins truck is for the engine, but if you want a truck you can use, and enjoy the Ford is your truck to choose from the 90s. Gm didn't have the Duramax until far after and really there's no comparing a dodge and ford from the 90s the Ford was a total truck, the dodge was an engine that you got something truck like wrapped around but don't expect it to survive being used for a living. If I had my way I'd have a 1992 or 93 IDI turbo. Because the powerstroke just made a basic engine complex. Plus high pressure fuel pumps for the direct injection stuff ...
@djmtndewАй бұрын
And if you have to have a Cummins, you can buy plenty of gas ford trucks and blown up 6.4s and 6.0s and put a 6bt from industrial use in it cheaper than you can buy any Cummins trucks from dodge..

I bought a 2006 nine years ago that needed an injector, changed it and have had no problems with it since. Bought a 2007 seven years ago and have never had a problem with it. Both are stock and have over 250,000 miles on them. With people being so scared of them I got both of them really cheap. Do regular oil and fuel filter changes and those engines will last a long time.

I wish you have great luck. My mom bought a new 2006 and used it pulling a trailer up and down the east coast. At 44,000 miles it was on its 3rd turb. She actually traded for a dodge and still has it with no issues at 260,000

@@neilkratzer3182I would be curious how it killed 3 turbos. That year model has long turbo life unless it has a wild tune. More likely it had 3 turbos that weren't the problem.

The awesome thing about 6.0s that are blow up is buying them cheap. Then taking all the straight body parts and swap them onto a 500k mile 7.3 which is only halfway to the grave.

The second a guy says "the 6.0 is the worst diesel ever made " it gives away that they know nothing about diesel trucks . Ive had 5 of them and ran them all up to around 250k on stock head gaskets stock egr and everything . Just did my first wver 6.0 hpop at 248k miles and it gave me plenty of warning it was going . I use them for plowing snow pulling gooseneck and hauling firewood . If you really want to see a piece of junk look into the 6.4l powerstroke . The guys that know nothing and talk crap about them actually help keep the price down for guys like me that run the crap outta them so its not all bad

Ahh the cold start chop of a 6.0 i hear it every morning and never get tired of that lumpy idle, harness is definitely one of the problems on these they vibrate so much and with everything stuffed in there they rub a bit, i recomend you check the harness under the intake thats a infamous rubbing spot right there it caused my truck to die on light acceleration under 130° water temp. Last thing: the newer style mirrors are a nice upgrade visability through them is amazing compaired to stock.

The 70ft jump into a fatmers field at 3am is what killed the truck but i flicked the fuel shut off switch and that thing ran for 6 hrs to keep me warm in -25.
