After watching this story unfold and become an endearing gift to a loving wife I became aware of a few things drawing strangers together in it... strange as it may seem. 😆 I used to live in Dunwoody... When I was a child, I grew up in the back seats of some of the finest Cadillac sedans ever built... Lastly, when I painted my 88' OBS Stepside Restomod, I used Cadillac's Black Diamond Firemist, bumper to bumper, no chrome, with an extremely fine, almost a powder, ground red glass glitter added to the clear. The sun shows fire behind the blackness as it passes then fades. She's "Murdered out" as the kids say. There's three things tying you good folks to myself, a total stranger, outside of KZbin... it's a small world indeed.

I had some brand new tires mounted once upon a time at a Meinike that is no longer open in which they charged a huge price for the mounting and used the “Bean Bag” balancing and they reused the old valve stems. I had to add air what seemed like every two days. You have to really watch some of those places.

Buy and flip them been doing it for years. Just did a newer Nissan Sentra tree fell on. Found the identical parts car same color for 500. Biggest job I’ve ever done was drilling out the spot welds to take roof off

Good rebuild and idea to use parts vehicles to make one good one. I do the same thing as a computer technician when I'm troubleshooting and refurbishing systems. I would have the factory front grill instead of that billet-looking chrome grill. It does not make the vehicle look good to me. Since it's for your wife, that's why I mentioned it. She's going to enjoy driving this. Also, grab whatever good parts remaining and put them in the other shell and junk the trashed one. Keep the remaining one as you never know when you would need it again.

those servo motor blend doors are pure krap. They cost a fortune to replace on my 2004 Escalade. One is easy to replace, the others not so much. Give me the old fashion levers and cables attached to the doors.

Excursion was my dream truck for a while UNTIL I bought one and tried to daily it for a year... Wore me and my family out... It is NOT comfortable a family hauler... The GMT 800 / 900 platform can't be beat for comfort... Excursion is a HD truck ... GM makes a fancy station wagon... not even close...

100% dead on the mark. This caddy is sp much more comfortable. We just did 1500 miles in the excursion and it had tons of room but was not comfortable or quiet. Love it brother glad you can relate.
