“Motivated” is the seventh track from Mansion and is an upbeat, fiery song in which NF demonstrates the motivation he has for making music using clever wordplay and a fast flow. "But when I write, I produce passion, that's Mel Gibson (Hey)" -: Mel Gibson was the producer for the classic Christian film The Passion of The Christ that released in 2004. In the same way the movie is graphic and deep in meaning, NF’s lyrics are too because they tell emotions and personal stories that look into Nate’s life. "I dream on different levels of dreams-Inception (No)" -: Inception is a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio where individuals can access the dreams of other people. In the movie, there are different levels of dreams to look into. Nate is comparing the plot of the movie with reality when he has goals for himself. "I'm all business, no suit on, but that's okay (Ah) I will K.O. you (K.O.), if you come in my work space (Here yet?)" -: Earlier in his career, NF wore a suit and tie for performances and branding: But, his Mansion and later appearances began to utilize darker grayscale colors and street clothes to match his deep and personal message: But, he explains this doesn’t diminish his seriousness. In “Know” alongside critiques of the rap industry’s typical vanity. "I'm a stand up guy, I promise you ain't laughin' " -: A stand up guy is someone who can be trusted. At the same time, NF is serious and not trying to make his listeners laugh by filling his songs with punchlines. A play on words with stand up comedians whose goal is to make people laugh. "You don't like that I'm blunt or is it the fact that I smoke past ya?" -: NF continues the drug wordplay and tells us that he is completely ‘blunt’ in his music, so much that he smokes past his competition similarly to how a marijuana smoker smokes blunt. "I'm my own worst critic, so, critics, step your hate game up" -: NF mentioned two lines earlier that if he doesn’t feel like his song is good, he’s not going to release it. Building on this, he states that he is his biggest critic, so any other haters or critics out there will have to try harder, because he’s already hard on himself. "No Johnny Cash, but some of y'all are walkin' the line" -: “I Walk the Line” is a famous song by Johnny Cash that was released in 1957. "I treat these lines like court case, I don't wanna settle" -: In a court case, to settle would to be to compromise or have to take a lesser deal than what the lawyer was originally shooting for, which is not what you want to do. NF treats his lines and songs like this, and doesn’t want to just settle, he wants to win. "They say I rap hungry (Ah), well, that's 'cause I'm starvin'-Diesel" -: NF plays on the word hungry by saying he’s starvin which he separates so the end of the line is Vin Diesel, a famous actor. The Vin Diesel reference plays into the next line which mentions the movie Riddick, that Diesel stars in.
