Those rear door struts can be put lower down the frame and further back on the door and when you close it the struts over centre and push the door closed , so your latch isn’t under pressure , then to open you give a little pull and it pushes the door open .

Need to add a tag to the door that the structs attach to and then you can have the over center ability. I agree it is way more common to have the struts lower on the frame and on the item that opens closer to hinge. Also looks like the structs they have are way overpowered. Also the stucts are flipping over, not likely an issue in this case, but they have oil in them to create soft open at end, the oil will start running away once the struct is horizontal or upside down. The struct should remain higher up than the extension ram to always maintain soft open.

So much engineering has gone into a good build and that shows . Its about the build and watching stuff created ,more than a competition that hasnt haf the good vibe about it ! We havnt forgotten about King Fred ,thats another do not miss build . The Bread Van could be the back up vehicle for King Fred ,carry the excess gear and helpers . There is probably a mechanical adjustment on that old press brake to adjust the pinch point. That allows the machine to slow down right at the point that it hits the material, so the bend does not fly up. On the old press brakes I used to run they didn't even develop full power until after they slowed down.

Fantastic job... the coolest OFFROAD BREAD VAN IN HISTORY... I would be curious about what Ian and Onx are thinking. Everyone is late and / or unfinished. There is nothing posted at all from the events . But as the saying goes, better late than not at all. Be curious about the plans for the vehicle after the event. After all the work put into it. Not to mention the little things that need to be done following the event. Then it's back to King Fred... and can't forget about the snow cat.. and touch up work on the giveaway truck... the Cherokee... the drift / burnout car... the......... It looks like the Layton Nation needs to grow to keep up.... But that's a good thing. Because that means more projects..... lol... 😎👍
