The Bueller chassis is a great dirt chassis. Used to race, ran one on an oval with a wedge body. That would be your next step, downforce. Helps keep kart cleaner too.
@OldNo7Garage4 жыл бұрын
Those wedge bodies are where it’s at. Reminds me of the old wedge late models.

You could always make it exciting and put some sprinklers outside the track. Then on those extra hot days you can control the dust and get cooled off at the same time. lol

We run slicks on our factory stock in texas they get better bite then kk704 tires on a tacky track and dry slick tracks
@OldNo7Garage4 жыл бұрын
Yep since this video, we’ve started watering the track and keeping bite in it. It’ll eventually slick off and be nice and smooth. So we quit running the grooved tired and stuck with slicks

Leaf blower for the loose stuff before you water it, and the hard pack under the dust should harden even further, especially if you run the same groove every time...
@OldNo7Garage5 жыл бұрын
You know I was just thinking about that today, thanks for the tip!!

Also, pick off every little rock or foreign debris from the track, before & after a race or practice session. When a high revving tire hits even a small stone, it will leave a crater/rut, and it will only get bigger--until it has to be repaired. My Track was a dirt oval at 170' x 95'. I used a Powerful Gas Leaf Blower also, but some still had to be hand picked off the surface. And, if you don't water the track to keep the dust down, plan on changing oil and cleaning your filters out more regularly! My Dog did the same thing when i went out--haha. They cheat also, like cutting across the infield to cut you off! Good Luck & have Fun!!!

Well the smooth tires for 1 are maxxis EL tires.that punch 60-70. So super hard.the groved tires look like hossiers tires.so depends on what series they are.But are most likely 10-20 points softer.the flathead on gas is way down on power against a 196cc clone on gas. So need to level the playing field out.

You wanna make that track a real blast make it oval / figure eight. Then you can do some figure eight racing.

It is mostly tires and stagger and if the track is smooth an moist. i know kart tracks around here run slicks maxxis els and pinks and blues as well as burris. hopefully those tips help.
@rncboy24 жыл бұрын
one more thing you can groove the slicks if im not mistaken.
@OldNo7Garage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We grooved some slicks and it works really well on this particular track. We will look into the stagger!
@rncboy24 жыл бұрын
Stagger is helpful sometimes with these karts and yes all tracks usually depends.
@rncboy24 жыл бұрын
Oh an I'm sorry I told you you could cut the slicks but that's not possible with these tires. If you want something you dont have to prep to get it to really stick. I would go to a set of tredaed tires. Wet it. Pull the disc harrow across it pack it not to tight and repeat 2 more times. Should be good to go. I'd definitely prefer a moist track.
