We BUILT A NASTY Cammed Trailblazer SS Engine *FIRST START*

The LS2 408 stroker in Josh's Chevy Trailblazer SS was not making the power he expected. It was built to go fast but a small cam was holding it back. When we tore it down we found some damage and decided to replace all the bearings and clean up everything else at the same time. Now we're reassembling the engine, and starting it for the first time.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Common Questions:
What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Goldwing, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus
What do I do for a living? Make KZbin videos.
Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.
Where can I keep up with you off the bike?
Instagram: WatchJRGo
Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)
Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.
Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.
Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.
Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo
Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

hey man hope all is well, great seein ya get the steady trackion on views and subscribers, if you havnt already install a C02 monitor within 10 feet of that gravity vented tank, those older design units are super reliable and longer lasting than the direct power vented units but they are prone to chewing up and rusting the internal side of the vent pipe, its rare they go but having the monitor near by in the basement will reassure your good nites sleep,. stay safe and take care

@michrech

@Random Ryan : He worked at / for LSI, which is cool, but I still didn't expect the Ubiquiti stuff, for some reason. Makes me wonder if he hangs out on the Discord server at all... He's clearly not using even half the ports on that switch, which makes me wonder if it's a unit they sent out for testing, like the 24 AT-250w they sent me (for free) while they were toying with the idea of removing the passive PoE support (an idea they eventually dropped, for whatever reason)...

It's like $5k in parts just to get started with a proper dry sump. After that you quickly get into those fancy belt driven pumps, then you get bigger external pumps. At that point you're basically driving a pro-mod. Dry sump rocks but it's a totally different ball game! 🍻

Look at all the comments and people saying how good it sounds, and all the comments about oil starvation... there is not an LS engine on planet Earth that has an oil starvation problem, you've installed the main caps backwards, not once but twice. You can just bring it to me I'll charge what half the Machine Shop will because I know that's where you're taking it next, won't have to I just fixed it over the interweb for you. I just read a couple books man I'm no expert. Motorbooks Workshop pg 102 SA147 Workbench How-To pg 111

@@WatchJRGo put a mechanical gauge on the engine there is a port directly off the oil pump right behind where the power steering pump would be on a full-size Chevy pickup it's an Allen socket. You can use the same adapter for the oil pressure switch in the back of the valley. Lose the computer and get two opinions, i'll also circle back to the main problem, YOU INSTALLED THE MAIN CAPS WRONG AND SMOKED ALL THE BEARINGS.
