👇👇MD MERCH CLICK HERE👇👇: FULL SHOP: md-fish-tanks.creator-spring.com This was a huge build. Hardscape wise but also just overall presence in the new studio. I enlisted the help of @FishShopMatt because two sets of eyes are always better than one in my opinion. We both love the final look and I feel it has more of a raw feel than the usual typical aquascape. The fish seem to really love it as well. Don't forget, the filter is all cycled and we are using plants from another setup, so all is good in terms of beneficial bacteria, The filter is fully cycled for this amount of fish 👍 Find @Fish Shop Matt here: KZbin: kzbin.info Insta: instagram.com/matt_swfishkeeper/ Equipment (all links affiliate): LED FLOODLIGHTS: US amzn.to/3m3cEz9 UK amzn.to/3orIdRv GOOD BUDGET LIGHT:: US amzn.to/2MDfjk1 UK amzn.to/3iYlfQQ SMALL HANG ON BACK FILTER: US amzn.to/2Mw63OO UK amzn.to/39rx3b5 NANO INTERNAL FILTER: US amzn.to/3oxGBWm UK CANISTER FILTER: US amzn.to/3iNeVtW UK amzn.to/2Fo774a GOOSENECK CLIP ON LAMP: (similar as product is now discontinued) US amzn.to/2IlwLVA UK amzn.to/2LNat13 MINI WATER PUMP: US amzn.to/2oAmf5y UK amzn.to/2mjHDez TANKS: US amzn.to/2SOocHG UK amzn.to/2SPA24i STRIP LED LIGHT: US (similar) amzn.to/2SNgbm7 UK amzn.to/2Fn9aW1 ASTA LED LIGHT: US amzn.to/3k9EmpY UK amzn.to/3p5XUPY AQUARIUM RACKING: Shelving: US amzn.to/2SrYZ5k UK amzn.to/2GFWKJ2 AIRPUMP (FILTER SYSTEM): US amzn.to/31z8FA9 UK amzn.to/37GIoUa FILTER SPONGES: US amzn.to/3dQLUfM UK amzn.to/3dS2k7K MEDIA BAGS: US amzn.to/34Kaf2N UK amzn.to/3lAj3z1 STAINLESS LILY PIPES: US amzn.to/2FqHpvR UK amzn.to/2RlfrnC BOWL AQUARIUMS: US amzn.to/2M4FwFO UK: amzn.to/2Vx73CL API® products Subscribe to API on KZbin: kzbin.info USA consumers purchase API products on Amazon: www.amazon.com/stores/page/2193F555-CE5F-4A6B-BDC4-F315CB7F175D?channel=MDTanks UK consumers purchase API products on Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/stores/page/25663644-6C8C-432C-9E6A-0A85082C3E3C AQUARIAN® products Follow AQUARIAN on KZbin: kzbin.info/door/NxaNWKoWr_ztSgXgPj9r8A Purchase AQUARIAN products here: aquarian.co.uk/where-to-buy/ AWESOME MEMBERSHIP COMMUNITY kzbin.info/door/3uQXzXSPspf2LoGdtYGiHwjoin FOLLOW MY INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/md_fishtanks/ FOR BUSINESS ENQUIRIES: admin@mdfishtanks.com #plantedtank #aquascape #mdfishtanks

I am Australian! Rainbowfish actually live in creeks mostly, and they hang around the roots in the banks- usually with gudgeons (they are good friends). One area they are from locally has tons of vallisneria. I don't think I've ever seen them in lakes, we don't rlly have that many to begin with. Definitely creek/river fish. Beautiful tank, beautiful fish!

We do have a lot of lakes in Australia though they are home to mostly smaller fish due to them seasonally drying out, nothing else can survive in such small amounts of water.

Have to agree. I've never found one in a lake and have only ever found them in creeks.

Australian here, Australian Rainbows are predominantly in creeks in my experience and the creeks I’ve caught them in had limited aquatic predators. So they were out in the open, but when skittish they did hide near the banks and root systems. Scape looks great as always guys!!
@duvmangg2101 Жыл бұрын
was legit about to reply with something similar. They do travel up stream occasionally into really shallow creeks. I've seen them in slow flowing creeks way above really shallow pools. The whole creek does dry up from time to time, so thats my only explanation. But yes, they love the open and they hide when a shadow hits the water!

As a Rainbow fish psycho, this was fun to watch. Keep in mind, rainbows are actually QUITE fast swimmers, many of the species come from creeks and river systems, especially the Australian ones. One thing I will highly caution you on is the final small twiggy branches that were added. Rainbows aren't super smart, and when the spare and court, they pay zero attention to their surroundings, so those twiggy branches can be a recipe for injuries. Just a heads up! Otherwise love the overall design!

cheers Bentley. The twigs are so bendy. There's no strength in them at all so should be ok.

Such a beautiful scape. I'm looking forward to watching this one develop over time. I really like the bundle of plants plunked on top of the wood, because as Matt said, that's how they would grow in the wild. In my personal opinion, the more "wild" an aquascape looks, the better it is. Like, I love artistic scapes, especially ones based on landscapes from fantasy films, but the natural looking ones that you do will always be my favorite.
