Keep up the great work, it’s really great to see you guys working your way step by step to realize your dream.

It is Sunday and I watched all of your videos today. I was very intigued at the beginning and then started to realize what you are doing is exactly what I did for many years Including the repairs on the various equipment. Like replacing the entire undercarrige on and EX 200 excavator in the field and another time replacing 2 hydraulic pumps in the field on job sites on another EX 200. I am proud of you guys for being such hard workers and so motivated to get stuff done. You took on all the challenges and were not afraid of facing life as it really is. You are definitely not snow flakes ! Keep on keeping on and it does get much better, good on ya ! Very cool indeed.

I know it's useless commenting from the future, but if you build any other structures like this, consider strapping a bunch of wide-angle worklights to the rafters as soon as practical. That way right off the bat you can have bright light everywhere throughout the workspace at the flick of a switch.

A gap in a floor joist is called a crown. Every joist has a bend to it all the crowns need to face the sky, so when you walk over the floor then want to push down and out. But becuse of the rim joist it won't let them. If every other one points a different direction then your floor won't be flat. It will rise and fall from joist to joist. You should have slighted all your lumber and marked the crown of each one with an arrow pointing up. That way the all lay the same way. You would have a nice flat floor. That 1/2 the barns your apartment 2 story.

I found this channel halfway through the build and was hooked. I went back to the beginning to experience it all. It’s great to see how well you guys work together. Since so many comments have advice for you I’ll add my own 2 cents. Most Honda generators take the intake air from below, next time you’re in town, stop at the auto parts place and get a metal drip pan to place the generator on, you will get much longer life from the air filter. Also we change the oil every 100 hours or so. We use Mobile 1 synthetic and a few of our generators have a few thousand hours on them!

Suggestion for your electric outlets. Since you will be using a diesel generator, and it most likely will not be running all the time, to put in a few outlet boxes in the apartment for low voltage DC power. The outlets can be used to power 12vdc lighting for when its dark and the generator is not running. You can get 12 vdc led light bulbs on Amazon to use in table lamps, powered by a 12 volt battery. This will save on not having to run an inverter to run lights. Your solar panels can charge your battery during the day. Glad to see you have a diesel generator. It's the lowest cost to operate over gas, or propane, but it is still expensive cost per KW. Run will clean diesel, and filter your fuel.
