@@ariesph-3217that’s a very racist statement. This family is Korean. It’s like saying if another Korean family asks them for help they won’t help them because they’re not like Filipinos. Don’t generalize and make sumptuous like that about people. Very unfair. You don’t know them. We also have friends who are Chinese and they’ve helped our family so much especially in trying times. Similarly, I’ve met Filipinos who will only be there if they need something from you and be gone when you need it. It depends on the person, not their race.

I hope your beloved city learns to lessen cars like how some dense cities in the world do it. It could be only a bicycle riding city in some areas like Norway where they have lifts for bicycles for steep climbs. They need to solve the traffic as it’s worst than Manila, being a smaller city. Make it a walking and cycling city -government of Baguio.

@@denniszenanywhere that is our problem for a long long time now. I always am mot happy as well because Baguio City has only narrow roads. I would always want to propose to not allow tourists with cars if there are only 1-2 passengers including driver. They should promote and utilise our public transpo. Everytime i am back home, parking has always been our problem bigtime. So instead na maenjpy ang bakasyon, locals ang nag susuffer because they can't live their norms like before, running their errands or simply going to work is super hassle na ksi parking, traffic and even grabbing a taxi cab is hard sa dami nang tao.. Originally Baguio can only accomodate 25,000 population but now there are 400,000 idagdag pa ang turista so expect na mahirap talaga maghanap nang rental house. I asked my sister who has a vacation rental house she said malaki kasi demand nang rental so mataas ang rent and others prefer to use their rentals as transients and airbnb rather than long term. I wish them finding one soon too. 🙏☺️

Baguio is my hometown. I plan to retire there. If you have trouble finding a place, we have a very humble two story home right off Camp 8 by the basketball court. It's an old home, but has its charm. The 1st floor is separated from the 2nd floor and has it's own small restroom with a shower.

Baguio is really expensive. One option is for you to live in nearby La Union. Your kids can go to a school in San Fernando City (Lorma highschool, St louis College, etc). I agree with this and most people in Baguio are students that's why most accomodations and rentals are seeking for long term stays like students that could stay in the city for at least 3-4 years. Another reason why baguio is crowded now is because of the two months vacation of the students, families can travel.

Baguio looks nice, the last time I was there I was only 10 years old. I just read up on the history of Baguio: It was developed in the early 1900’s by the Americans who took solace there from the heat and eventually engineered a road that led up there. They of course use the local tribes to do most of the work building the road to Baguio, hence the American names like Session Rd and Burnham Park. It would be nice to revisit Baguio again when I return there. It is a big tourists place too, prices are so high.

Baguio is a tourist place, which is why it is pricey. Most of the visitors are only for short-term stay. Rentals will focus on these short-term weekly tourists because it would bring them more money versus long-term. But know there are houses outside the city that are for long term, especially whose owners are from Manila. You can also contact local Koreans in the area. There are a lot.

I agree with the many comments I have read with regards to finding a long-term rental area in Baguio. It is not easy to find one if you are looking for a place near the city centre, however, there’s a lot in the outskirts of the city. Getting assistance with the Korean community there will help tremendously because they have helped many families before especially for the families who sends their children to PH to learn English. Watching these vlogs makes me miss my hometown sooooo much. I reached out to my family members if they have any vacancies. We usually offer transients because we’re very near the city (lower brookside and cabinet hill)…

Baguio is the summer capital of the Philippines and is considered as one of the top tourist destinations especially for us Filipinos. It will be overcrowded during Christmas, Holidays, Holy Week, and February during the Flower Festival.

Please don't forget to check if your accomodation has water tank before fully committing to long term lease. Baguio has been experiencing water shortages for quite some time now. Lovely family! Best of luck!

most of the rental houses are being converted to transients / airbnbs. thats why its driving the rental prices higher and higher for longterm rental houses. hard for baguio locals too.

Baguio is lovely just be careful with pickpockets. We experienced that before in Session Road. If you are already settled in Baguio, try visiting Atok and Alphaland Baguio Mountain Village. It will make you feel like you're in a different country. But make sure to do your research first since it's been a while since we last visited. Not sure if there are changes in routes or rules. Stay safe, fam!

I grew up in Baguio City. Chronic traffic jam in the city is bad during Holy Week around March to April and Panagbenga flower festival in February months of the year.

Baguio is good for vacation, not sure about living long term. They have Subic, Clark, San Fernando and Angeles Lots of Korean community and good schools. It will be easier to get around the city.

Try Subic, Pampanga, Pangasinan or La Union. They are close to Baguio but more affordable rental houses.

It's hard to find space in Baguio because it is a center of education. Big universities are located there, so many students come up to Baguio. Many do their businesses there because of many residents and tourists as potential customers. That is why it is hard to find a vacant space
