Hello from North Carolina Phillip, that was a bggo bo hawg know you be glad to get him gone, my water heater sprang a leak one year while were on a weekend vacation trip to the mountains had to replace 3/4 of the flooring in my house what a mess, when i replaced it I got a metal pan to put under it with a drain hole through the floor so if it leaked again it would just run under the house and not ruin my floor enjoyed the video Yawt Yawt reminds me of the time years ago me and 2 friends went turkey hunting in Miss👍👍

Replacing an electric hot water heater is usually not too difficult, especially if it’s electric. I’d go 50 gallon. Remember to flush your water heater 2-3 times a year. Might want to get a plastic pan that goes under the heater to contain water if there is a leak. Some people install the pans if the heater is in an interior location.

Put a spill pan under your water heater when you replace it with the new one. That'll prevent it from soaking your floor the next time this happens.

Not sure if that's an electric or natural gas water heater. The breaker box being open implies electric as does the lack of an exhaust in the room. Your house is fairly new so maybe the water heater is covered by warranty but it seems pretty fast for a water heater to fail.

I saw a video this morning of 2 people that came on a beaver whose tail was trapped by the tree it gnawed down. They got the tree off its tail, then had to dig its tail out of the mud cause it was still stuck. They said bye to the beaver as it waddled off. My point: I'm saying, good thing Yawt-Yawt didn't find the beaver or it would be a 22 to the head!!

Your water heater rusted through, bottom blown out. I had the exact same, a little worse than your picture, happen to me 10 or so years ago. This is why that hose attachment is at the bottom. You need to hook a hose (I kept mine permanently affixed as a reminder) to flush out the rust and junk every 3 months. When you skip that method the results are shown in your video.

Ok beavers eat pond fish and trees. Water heaters leaking can rot out you floor to. Hogs eat corn and some try to fly out of the trap. Good luck in Vegas.

Do they really eat fish? I hadn't heard that before, but it wouldn't surprise me. I have some killer bass ponds with beavers and they don't seem to hurt anything. We wage war on the otters though. The eagles and ospreys put a hurting on the fish too.
