I'm not a fan of ev trucks but the scout with the range extender got my full attention surprisingly it's possible that it's even more than what it's hyped to be it's good looking as well
@jlaw1901Ай бұрын
I agree! If I owned a house, an EV truck would suit my needs perfectly. The Scout really has my eye. I like 5.5ft bed, would be better at a full 6ft but it is what it is
@OldThomMertonАй бұрын
Nathan, your Santa Cruz worked well for you. Ignore the haters! - That Telo concept is cool. Some folks need just a small rig. Like Colorado, here in Spokane we have a small number of small business folks driving the K trucks. This Telo could be interesting depending upon the price.
@tomconway6808Ай бұрын
I'm seriously considering a RAM Promaster 118 or 136 wheelbase because they are about the same size as a pickup truck or smaller and you can fit way more stuff in the back than you can with even a single cab 8ft bed pickup truck with a camper shell on it.

If puttning a smaller tire (power wagon) on a vehicle in order to get it into production I think its fine. Just give enough space in the arches for us to upgrade later.

@aerynlovell4754Ай бұрын
Andre seems to have forgotten that Tommy already has plans to buy the Maverick for his wife when TFL is done making videos with it. Nathan will have to wait a year or two and look for a used Maverick. Since Nathan is in California, I think he should get an old Ranger prerunner. I think the reason that Ford is putting a V6 in the Ranger is more displacement and better fuel economy. John at LHT Performance bought a new Chevy Colorado with a V6 and then replaced the engine with the V8 from a Silverado. He said the V8 doesn't work as hard as the V6 and he gets 28-30 MPG on the highway. A turbocharged 4-cylinder engine can produce good horsepower and torque but you are maxing out the engine in a mid-sized truck that weighs over 5,000 lbs. Ford knows in a truck that will tow and haul cargo you need an engine with larger displacement or more cylinders so the motor has extra power for towing/hauling and can still climb steep hills without struggling.

Hello guys thanks for all your videos and content. It’s great. One thing I would like to comment on is you keep talking about wheel size being too large but the CAFE rules dictate what manufacturers do because they have to take out a percentage of rubber out of their tires every year, so get used to larger wheels until there’s no rubber left
@showmemorefunthings9208Ай бұрын

I wonder how much the 81% will change once they announce the cost of the range extender on the scouts. If it’s a $10k option I’d guess that will go down significantly, but if it’s a $2k option it’ll probably hold strong.

Controversial take but I think I would get the EV only version cuz I don’t need to tow long distance so the simpler option would be better

Love you guys and your coverage, but I still never understand the discussion of Toyotas crowded SUV topic where Lexus GX is included. It's a different brand..I get components are shared, but it is a different buyer and market..and GX is not new, it has had its buyer since 2002. The land cruiser and 4runner is a perfect argument...but the GX...as far as Toyotas decision to crowd the market, is senseless discussion point.

I had a 2008 Fj Cruiser trail teams in white. Longest kept vehicle ive had until I had wrecked. I knew the ins and outs of that thing as I have had to make repairs as an amateur body man. It was Very Easy to work on and though plastic, the Materials were strong and steadfast. Im saying you can reclip the Dash Panels plenty of times without tearing any of the clip points. Listen, the Chevron Deference was DEFEATED in the Supreme Court This Summer. The Problem with Hybrids is How much it completely takes over the System. In the Event of an Electronic Failure, you are stranded in Limp Mode. Do this one Right, Ill buy one if you make it Internal Combustion. I really wish the automotive press would acknowledge the fact that EV range is meaningless. Completely and utterly. It's all about recharge rate. It's something that those EV manufacturers can't really tout because it relies so much on the charging infrastructure - and in that regard, their goose is cooked. Physics cannot be violated. kWh = kW x h. If you decrease the h, you have to increase the kW, which is V x A. Point is that you could have a super wizzbang battery that lasts 1000 miles on a charge and could take a theoretical 5 minute charge without exploding - but the charger itself will need to have the voltage and amperage to support that recharge rate... and the math for that required MEGAwatt scale chargers.

The front of the power wagons was fine, the rest of the truck needed the work! Why can’t we just get a DT based heavy duty truck?!?! Why is that so much to ask for? That truck is a 2009 truck with a new front end. Why is Stellantis so out of touch with what people want? Still 33” tires? Seriously, WTH? I love my ram trucks but Stellantis is garbage and I don’t think anything will change until they sell off the mopar brands.

You these guys at TFL really believe people buy “off road” package trucks to actually go off road? In Colorado maybe but everywhere else it’s just for the looks. Nobody that has a regular job that buys one of those is wheeling it
@shitloveaduckАй бұрын
I live in Alberta, Canada and you are both right & wrong. Having a lot of gravel roads in the area, even that makes it worth getting the off-road package vs not!! That then makes about 75% of the sales very reasonable as Off-road packaged vehicles. I don’t have someone in my vast circle that don’t use the off-road capabilities of their trucks. Sometimes you don’t need a ZR2, or Rubicon level of truck (front & rear lockers are extremely capable! I have seen one TFL video where they took this very high level of off-road trail, that being with their Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch. The locking rear differential is very valuable mind you. From BC right across to Newfoundland (excepting the very largest metropolitan areas) there’s definitely well over 60% that use the off-road features of their trucks. My first vehicle was a truck way back in 1976 as a 14 year old. I restored/built a 68 GMC shortbox Stepside and converted it to a 4x4 from a 69 longbox we had that had been rolled. By the time u was 16, that truck had about 10,000 off-road miles on that truck. All of my friends had trucks, most 4x4s (which weren’t too common back then). Cities even as large as Calgary & Winnipeg will be selling the majority of their off-road packages to trucks that will be at least trail driven. If you live in the city & don’t go off-road yourself, you may not be aware or understand. 😊

I did. Love my Rubicon Gladiator. Best rig I've ever had. So handy to have in the Wyoming range.
