Looks and sounds good. Did you fix the loose drag wire on the Peteinpole

Warren Baker getting closer and closer. We had to extract the old one, and fabricate a new wire, which involved waiting for special taps and dies to arrive! Hoping to have it all sorted in the next couple weeks.

That's a great 140, lots of character. Wasn't it down for a little while? Glad to see it up and flying again!

Is this the first aviation channel to end in tragedy? Makes me rethink idea of flying myself.

You have to ready to accept the risks. It is dangerous no doubt as you see that even the best can go down. The closest I'm going to get is Microsoft Flight Sim.

It is more dangerous to drive a car. Give it a try and look out the window. Then you can worry about driving to the airport safely. They had an avoidable accident.

Nope, the soaring community lost Balleka back in 2016. He was one of the top youtube glider pilot content creators.

New here, after the NTSB released the accident report. I've been in aviation for over 40 years now, mostly in maintenance but also flying when I could. Are there risks? Certainly. In life, I've found that anything worthwhile involves an element of risk, whether flying, or driving, or falling in love. You can stay perfectly safe if you never take the chance, but you'll never get the rewards without the risk. There's a quote I ran across many years ago from a former SR-71 pilot named Brian Shul, who wrote a book entitled, "Sled Driver". He summed it up pretty well: "The cockpit was my office. It was a place where I experienced many emotions and learned many lessons. It was a place of work, but also a keeper of dreams. It was a place of deadly serious encounters, yet there I discovered much about life. I learned about joy and sorrow, pride and humility, and fear, and overcoming fear. I saw much from that office that most people would never see. At times it terrified me, yet I would always feel at home there. It was my place, at that time in space, and the jet was mine for those moments. Though it was a place where I could quickly die, the cockpit was a place where I truly lived."
