"We Cannot Measure How You Heal" was written by John Bell and Graham Maule of the Iona Community. It was published in 1989.
The tune is a traditional air, probably Scottish or Irish, known as 'Ye Banks and Braes' or 'Bonnie Doon' or 'Candler'. It is associated with a poem by Robert Burns, published in 1791, which starts with the words, "Ye Banks and Braes..."
It is performed here by the choir of Salisbury Cathedral.
