Thanks for the experience. This video took me back 30 years ago, when I was 10yo slinging a net til the sun came up on the St. Johns in Palatka. We’d fill the coolers up all night long and be cleaning the at the same time. Awesome memories! Thanks again!

I grew up catching shrimp off the bridges in Miami with dip nets at night. It was a big surprise to me to see so many videos on KZbin, where people were using cast nets to get shrimp. This is the best shrimp cast net video I have seen on KZbin and that shrimp Alfredo looks better than what you could get in a restaurant. Very happy to subscribe.

We do both! Dip net in the winter and cast net in late summer /fall. Thank you for the support!

Yeah me too! In Miami, we use to lower a car headlight hooked up to a battery, all the shrimp would swim towards rhe light and we'd scoop them.up with a huge2x4 net. !! Good times

Yeah I grew up there too in the 60's. We'd catch shrimp from the bridges and crabs that were twice the size of what they typically catch now,

Man Ian! I'd have to come to you with my hat in my hand, & my biology degree (including studies in Marine Biology) in my sneakers as a liner! You have more knowledge, just from living there & actually Doing, than most all of my former Professors! You no slouch of a chef either! Honestly, again you would shame most guys I worked with in restaurants! Like to share some tips if I may, though I've a feeling you probably already know most. White Wine, or Good Sherry to finish sautees, chowders, alfredo gives it that special something that makes restaurants almost worth their Money. Alcohol Mostly evaporates, so no worries there. Bourbon is fantastic for any grilled meats, I would think especially great w venison - comes out sweet! (Go figure) Cajun Seasoning is basicly dried Thyme, Paprica, Cayanne, Garlic, Onion, Black Pepper, Bay Leaves, Celery Seed, Salt - & you can play around with Cumin, Corriander, Allspice, Ginger, all kinds of things.... Old Bay, just leave out the Thyme & add Lots of celery salt, & add whole bay leaves so you can fish them out when your done cookin whatever have you. Your cooking is one of the best parts of your vids, & I don't mind saying admitting you taught me a thing or 2 - & I been at it 20+ years!

My friends and I use to shrimp on the St. Johns, another friend had a horse farm there on the water, this was about 23 years ago. She also had a freezer so all we had to do was run up the hill with the full buckets when they run hot! Came home and shared with everyone....I only had room in my freezer for shrimp though.
