We caught winter blackmouth in Area 10

We headed back out in search of winter blackmouth. I took my buddy out for some winter blackmouth in area 10 of Puget Sound and it did not disappoint.

Awesome job guys those were some nice blackmouth. I am surprised you didn't get any coho at 105'. They were thick from 80-100 when I was out. Just small ones though 12 - 16".👍

That downrigger release clip holding the net bag is such a good idea!

Yeah, it works great for solo netting and just keeping the net bag out of the way of getting caught on stuff. Wish I could take credit for the idea, but I met one of my subscribers, Chad. He invited me out on his boat. This was an idea I got from him, as well as switching from scotty to pro releases on my downrigger balls. You can always learn something new from anyone. @@ThePiscatorian360 I'm definitely copying the release clip on the bag idea. I take friends who don't have much experience netting and they let the bag swing in the current, then sometimes the fish manages to tangle a hook into the netting and fish gone. I tried the pro release years ago when the release pin that swings out to release the line had a ball on the end of it. Sometimes the release would turn going down and it would wrap a twist of line around pin so the line would get stuck on the ball even when the pin released. I see the new pro release design has eliminated the ball at the end, but I'll probably still stick with the scotty clips. They've been trouble free, just the tension wears out over time so I keep a few spares around.
