Thanks! You motivated me to play and finish this game again. Finished with 3k dudes, 1k dudes is really a requirement to move on with the game now, huge towers that were 20x16, and entire underground of my area was just farms, from ground to bedrock (or however deep the banner let me go really). Spend over 104 hours, some idling for resources. Some tips! Little way to cheese trading, in the morning place like 50 boxes that boosts your max points, sell and buy stuff, upgrades, remove boxes and your threat is non the wiser. Dont forget neat walls, just one high wall with one deep trench on the outside. Wiki is useless, its so outdated it almost made me cry. To me it was easier to place beds opposite to workers station, put crate between two stations and so on. Each group would have its own tool block and grocery block. To optimize I recommend to look up ideal farm sizes, like: Trees farm is 3x33, bees and chickens 3x3, berries 3x7, wheat, cotton, barley etc just whatever, so I used 10x10. This game relies on previous tech levels, so I would recommend to invest into everything heavily, like mining, water gathering, pottery etc. Fishing seemed like OP way to feed many people. Outposts you have to unlock as a tech, buy outpost flag in shops. There are 4 main biomes heat, mammoth tree, marshes and mountains. Compass and Astrolabe are used for navigation, colony and biomes respectively. Bookshelves and scroll shelves needs to be the "right" amount to replenish evenly with your scribes, it is in the tooltip, 10 per worker. I always put more because it didnt seem right. Biomes heat and marsh have specific dirt and grass, used to grow specific stuff, you can just bring it to your main base if you want to grow everything in one place. Builders are good for building endless towers or mines for farms or work. Diggers are also really useful. I always left some of the old time guards just because they are cheap and might one shot some weaker enemies so I dont waste too much of top level ammo. Traps i didnt really get too much, dudes are not willing to refill them if they are too far away, so only way is to make them point at the maze and have refill access. Getting steel started up is a bit of a pain, focus on upgrading to newer tech thats cheeper. Same goes for steel and broze parts. Gliders sucks, have fun.
@TherianSK Жыл бұрын
PS: Flooding! Watch out, water always floods downwards and levels, meaning if you have underground base and you hit water, you just flooded everything, every single block. No in game fix for this but if this happens, you can set first builder to fill your base with something that's not in it like leaves, and then have specialized digger to only mine those leaves.

When I first found Yogs, it was because I'd dipped into some Minecraft RP server- like 11 or 12 years ago. And they all simply refused to believe I found them on my own. But then I found Yogs playing minecraft from them! Amazing

I think members like members content that lets you see your favorite streamers when they are relaxing and just enjoying life. Not working hard to perform entertainingly. Like...everyone going out to a pub. That would be good members only content. It specifically does not have to be the "working hard" stuff. Lewis sounds like he thinks it needs to be "working extra hard" but if the best stuff is being seen by a small audience, how is that a win. Some of the best stuff of JingleJam is just someone going around the office with a go-pro chatting. We want to see the PEOPLE behind the PERFORMANCE. Well speaking for myself at least.

Hi Duncan. I went to that college- the one that made Dig-N-Rig? It's called DigiPen University and *no* the professors do not come up with the innovative designs of student made games. We are responsible for the design and the programming and the art ourselves as students. That's what we're there to learn. At best professors say shit like "Don't make grappling hooks, they're harder than you think". Part of what your game projects are graded on is how innovative and creative they are. And I am genuinely offended by the suggestion that my games are not my ideas.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure the way YT & Twitch copyright strike isn't legal, but who has the money to take them/record labels to court?
@BalthorYT Жыл бұрын
Don't quote me on this, but as far as I remember, content sharing sites like YT, Twitch, social networks, file sharing/downloading sites, etc., work on a 'safe harbor' regime. So essentially, the sites aren't directly responsible for the content that users upload to it - so the site doesn't immediately get DMCA'd to death - but in order to maintain this 'safe harbor' status they have to police the content uploaded to the site and obey any takedown requests by copyright holders. Generally, even though they _should_ honor their users and analyze every case before taking action to protect legitimate stuff from getting struck, they just roll over and take stuff down without question, and at best it's up to the user to fight it afterwards - with all risk usually pinned on them. This behavior is shitty, but not entirely inexcusable - it's a byproduct of the draconic, predatory and profit-driven DMCA laws and standards: if those got changed (and they should!) then the sites would be able to safely act in more reasonable ways. Assuming they'd want to, of course... If you have some time to spare, Tom Scott did a few videos on the subject and he's far better at explaining the whole thing and the reasons & context behind it - go check it out if this is something that interests you
@RubelliteFae Жыл бұрын
@@BalthorYT Yeah, that's intuitive. It's just that they COULD pay enough staff to actually look into cases before demonetizing users. Alphabet, et al. are actively widening the gap between the wealthy and the little guys. Individual content creators already do more work than large studios (since most do their own filming, sound, editing, thumbnails, etc depending on the genre) for less money. Even when we try to do everything the way they say we have to (regardless of legal code), we get copyright struck by the very agency we purchased worldwide commercial usage rights from. It's another demonstration of how little they (all) care for users, their cattle. And it's all so normalized... I'm concerned for the next generations
@BalthorYT Жыл бұрын
@@RubelliteFae Exactly what I'm thinking. In a way, the draconian DMCA laws benefit them and serve as justification for their poor treatment of their users whenever copyright is involved - the moment it isn't though, it's always very telling when they still treat them poorly. So long as the same big groups & lobbies are in power, things will only get worse for anyone who doesn't create stuff that directly benefits or very closely aligns with their corporate interests. In the end, it's the same old story: profit over people. Copyright or not, these platforms only really care about things that bring in money, and so users, creators, artists, all are secondary to generating maximum revenue. I'd hope that newer generations learn to avoid them altogether, and either make new sites and networks for content sharing that aren't profit-driven or find completely new ways - but I know it's wishful thinking. People get hooked in younger and younger now, with Instagram and Tiktok being the most popular platforms among them, and from what I've seen, also some of the worst platforms for many reasons. Let's hope the tide turns in some way, sooner rather than later. Worst comes to worst, there's a glimmer of hope that these platforms will get bad to the point they implode or self-cannibalize, and this ends up prompting a change and the rise of newer, better places...
@RubelliteFae Жыл бұрын
@@BalthorYT I suppose in the end, if you want total creative freedom, the best best is to sacrifice audience size and go to some small platform they haven't dug their claws into yet. 😔 "and either make new sites and networks for content sharing that aren't profit-driven or find completely new ways" Lol, same thought. I wrote the above before finishing reading your post 😄 I had hopes for DTube. All the videos there are encoded onto a multi-hosted digital ledger ("blockchain"), so nothing can truly get taken down. Unfortunately since it's crypto-adjacent most of the content I've seen there is ... out there. Not necessarily all wrong, just... fringe. "People get hooked in younger and younger now" Exactly. By the time they are agreeing to give all their information to China, they aren't even old enough to understand the significance (not that giving it all to private enterprises is better, IMO, but I think there's pretty widespread agreement about autocracy over here). "Let's hope the tide turns in some way, sooner rather than later." IDK if hope is enough. We need to band together. There's more of us than them. We used to say "vote with your dollars." Now we need to teach, "In an attention economy, vote with your attention. Oh and install ad & tracking blockers." ...I say in KZbin comments. It tough to change a habit, even when you know it's harmful
