I'm glad Minecraft added the Axolotls to the game. If it wasn't for the shipment of 34 Axolotls from Mexico to Paris in 1863 leading to a thriving population in captivity, Axolotls would be extinct today. Another instance of captivity saving species around the world! I used to keep a special species of roach called the Simandoa cave roach that were only found in a single cave in Guinea. Thankfully the person who discovered them brought some back with him to the US to study, because after he discovered them, the Guinean government ordered the cave to be destroyed for bauxite mining. They survive today thanks to insect hobbyists.
