Ms Kitty is teaching her kids to be independent ... she is teaching them about outdoor life and slowly not to be dependent on her for things .... and places where they will be safe outside .... she is not an indoor cat ... she only knows about the outside ... and so she is teaching her children what she knows .... if you still have people that want the kittens ... they are ready for their new homes ... they will only learn independence from here on out ... Ms Kitty has been a very good Momma with her babies, protecting them with moving them so that she felt safe about them, but she is now ready for their next stage in life .... Sorry for the loss of Ms Nellie ... losing an animal of any kind is never easy ... the comfort is knowing that you provided the best for them that you could while you were graced with their care ....

@@grandpadossfarms I manage a colony of ferals ... if you are keeping all of the kittens in the garage ... then you will need to provide them with their own shelter in there ... with an access to the outside ... or build one outside near the house .... Mother is teaching her babies how to survive in the outdoors and keeping them locked in the garage will not give them the lessons that she is trying to teach them ... if you do not let the mother do her duty, you are interrupting the laws of nature ... so you need to decide if you want indoor cats or outdoor cats ... indoor cats you will always need to protect .... outdoor cats learn to protect themselves and fend for themselves and those around them ... let her teach her babies places to hide and be safe if needed ... she will teach them to hunt ... so don't be surprised if they bring you unwanted presents ... lizards ... mice ... birds ... grasshoppers ... they are a constant on my doorstep ... I take it as their way of saying thank you for feeding them .. let Momma do her job ...😁

I started out with the Cog Hill family, they suggested we check out Chad, Chad encouraged us to check out Chase and then you and grandma - I’m 78 and grew up on a farm and miss that life and animals. I love them all, and Sandy Brock with her sheep, a Bison family. You all are wonderful. I live in my daughters basement and for the most part I am disabled and isolated. COVID started it, then the health problems got worse and now I can barely walk so I don’t go anywhere and I get lonely. Watching you and grandma who are both closer to my age really help me feel like we are real friends. Thank you so much for doing this and being so relatable. Watching you is almost like being there.

Matt is sure becoming a natural at the feeding routine...yeah well Batman gave him a little challenge but hey, it was resolved quickly. I agree with keeping the kittens inside - Miss Kitty may not have been 100% feral, but all she knew until she found you was surviving in the wild and she wants her babies to know how to as well. Your garden is coming along great. Yes I think you need to keep an eye on the kittens. Spaying miss kitty will prevent further litters of kittens and it may help prevent some of the wandering she does. Poor Nellie. So sorry she passed away but that is farm life and it never gets easier when an animal passes. Always a joy to see Matt helping around the farm. maybe it is time to follow him with the camera and see how well he does without you telling him what to do.

Matting Grandpa are hilarious together. Matt had me cracking up when he said the one egg had hatched after being laid that morning. Lol!! Too funny! I live the shirts that Rae bought you. 😂😅 The kitties are a handful for both of you and for their Mamma. She's teaching them survival skills, but that is so scary for us humans that know the dangers of being out their by themselves. I would've kept them inside at least until they were 8-10 weeks of age. Miss Kitty is doing exactly what I was trying to tell you my cat who adopted us, Baby, did with her babies. She is just instinctively trying to keep them safe, and she's trying to raise them the way she grew up... in the wild. It's what she knows. It's in her DNA. You've tamed her quite a bit, but she's still got that bit of feral instinct in her. You don't have to worry about her losing one. She can smell them. However, I was just like you! I couldn't deal with not know where they were or if they were truly safe, so I made them a home in our walk out basement and wouldn't keep the door to the outside open any more. She just had to deal with it. haha I don't know if you're keeping all of them or not. My two got new homes at 9 weeks old. Re the puppies... ice cubes I've mentioned, are great for them to have as a treat, especially in hot weather. You'll appreciate this, Grandpa, my pups, no matter how many toys they had to play with or how many beds they had to lay in, absolutely hands down, their favorite thing EVER to play in was a priority box from the PO!! They would jump in and out of that thing for hours on end, chew the flaps, chase each other in circles around it, curl up inside it and fall asleep, etc. Rev and Rylie may be too big for a regular priority box, but I bet they'd have a blast in a big brown one. Re Miss Nellie... I know you love all your furkids on the farm and get attached. It hurts to lose any. I fed and watered my quail a few mornings ago and they were all doing just fine. Went over to the coop about 5 hours later as I was nearby and there was one, dead as a doornail, laying right next to the feeder. Not a mark on it. Only 11 weeks old (which is full grown for a quail). Just gone. It sounds like Miss Nellie may have had something going on internally, which there's no way for you to know, if you didn't do a necropsy. It happens. It's part of life with livestock. You gave her a great life and that's the most important thing. You treat your animals with love, care, and concern and it shows. It's what God wants us to do. BTW, Matt is a good egg!! So enjoyable watching your banter together. Have a good evening.

Yep I agree as a cat owner her all my life you got to decide whether they're your house pets or their outdoor cats and if their outdoor cats you got to let them learn and sometimes there's losses that's just nature as the person said

@@kimm59 my daughter's cat is an indoor/outdoor cat. He goes out in the day time, comes back inside in the evenings. He's like a dog , he goes to the door and scratches to go out. When he wants back in, he sits at the door and loudly meows until they let him in. He's been fixed so he's not in danger of getting momma's pregnant.

As far as the kittens , you might want to start searching out homes , because I think Miss Kitty is slowly moving them along. Your property is considered her territory so she might be making sure they wander elsewhere. Can I also ask you send a pray to my province of Canada , Nova Scotia. We are in the midst of wildfires and it's very close to the capital of Nova Scotia. I personally am a distance away from there so I am safe but so many have lost homes , businesses and pets / livestock. Thank you so much for giving me a chuckle , I needed it.
