nice, just tried building this out of two c stand kits, definitely need something sturdier than a grip arm, though you could probably get away with it if your camera is a compact mirror less.

You got it! A menace arm kit, a few 8, 6 and 4 foot speedrail, turtlebase c-stands with lollipops, swiveling cheeseborroughs and a few corners and ears from a speedrail frame kit. We can put an even more specific list in the description. But as mentioned in the video - this is definitely NOT the perfect rig by any means. We just used what we had in our truck at the time of recording.

Thanks for watching! We used a babypin receiver to 1/4 20 and screwed it right into the bottom of the camera. There may be a better way to do it though. You definitely need a light weight camera/rig if you connect with this piece as a single 1/4 20 isn't probably the strongest and can spin loose.

Cool rig and great shots, but you didn't really go into what the pieces were and how you created it. Like you mentioned, I'm sure there are plenty of ways to build something like this and I would have gladly stuck around for a 10-minute video if there was a breakdown of how do you built it and your methodology behind why you built it that way. I love all of this! I must say the camera move does feel like flipping pages backwards (watched 4 times to make sure I wasn't going crazy) was there a specific reason for this choice?

Glad you enjoyed the video! The camera direction was very intentional! It moves from right to left - the same way a page would turn. As you can see there is a shot or two that shows the model flipping forward in the planner and the camera is in sync with the move. The page is lifted from the right side of the planner and then falls to the left side - as you can see, the camera falls with it.

Nice rig! How do you rig the base pole on three of the C-stand turtle leg?

We put lollipops in the junior pin receivers and then mounted some ear attachments into the grip heads from some corner and ear sets that we have. This allowed us to mount the speed rail.
