@@fitnesspoint2006 Not every country is like the US where for decades we have had public education on the care and feeding of animals via the Humane Society and food ads from places like Purina and where veterinary care is readily available. I grew up in rural Oregon where the nearest vet was 75 miles away and most couldn't afford a vet anyway. Stray dogs and cats were all over. Distemper would go through and kill the dogs every few years. I can still remember how the poor dogs smelled when they got a fever from that. If an animal got an infection it was pretty much a sink or swim deal. We had a local self taught guy that did the best he could for them but he couldn't do surgeries and stuff. It was terrible. I remember 1 old woman who thought if you laid a barrel on it's side put a distemper dog in it and burned rags in front so the dog had to breath the smoke it would make it cough. Then after it coughed 7 times it would be ok. Most people tried the best they knew and sadly some just considered animals about like mobile plants. These matted dogs seem to be Hungarian herding dogs. If there are no spay/neuter clinics, affordable accessible veterinarians and no education programs I can understand why there would be a lot of them around as he is in the same general area where the breed originated.

Returning his dignity was the kindest gift of all. handling him with care and giving him tender caresses while grooming him under anesthesia probably meant more to you than to him. You're both winners when you see that tail wagging in the sunshine. God Bless you!!!!!!!!

I don't know why they keep breeding Hungarian Pulis. They are so labor intensive that if you don't have time to groom, or the money to pay for it, find an easier dog. I feel so sorry for the poor dogs. I'm glad you can help some of them.

Absolutely. Wolves, coyotes, and foxes don't need us for anything. People bred dogs to be dependent on us, which makes us responsible. Love dogs but don't want to put in that much work? Adopt a mutt and spay/neuter.

This poor doggo is a survivor. Despite being so matted, once the fur was off, you can tell he was able to scrounge enough food and was not emaciated like I’ve seen in some other dogs. Thanks so much for your good work. If there is a God out there, you will certainly be rewarded with spot in heaven.

So many dogs you rescue are referred to as the worst case of matting you have ever seen. And I am sure it seems that way for each one of them. It is also true of this poor dog. Absolutely worst case of matting I have ever seen. It is hard to imagine how a dog in this condition managed to stay alive long enough to reach your loving hands.

Years ago we raised a beautiful black Puli we found on a Florida beach. He was in horrible shape then too. As a child it was my job to groom him and once he was in good shape, it was 1-2 hours grooming each week. Noble brave good natured dogs. You released him from the claustrophobic TORTURE of his neglected fur. Now he can live in the joy of this moment and PLAY.

That's the first time I've seen you do a really bad dog that has been so neglected and abused. Thank you for taking care of him or her cause. We don't know what it is. Just a bunch of just sadness a lot of sadness. I am so happy that I take my dog once a month to get everything done. And my cat. I wish I could adopt another one. But I'm only allowed 2 pets here in my apartment as a senior and I got it because of the call in my companions. So I'm able to have the people do this. Put those dogs out there. Don't take care of them is sad very sad.😢😢😢

I used to do grooming when I was younger and wanted to work with animals. Only did it for 2 years. It is backbreaking work. I lived in NYC and we never saw dogs in those conditions. You two are amazing people.

Surely animals are protected and it should be recognised that they have a life and are sensitive loving creatures which is more than can be said for some people. Damjan and Sanja are in Serbia and they have a lot more problems than dog care. I’m sure their resources are already spread thin. I think it might be a matter of convincing the public to take care of their pets without the government stepping in.

I've seen you and your wife work on so many of these neglected dogs, and it's good to know that you have a vet locally that will assist you to do an anesthetized groom! When I saw you shave away the hair on the dogs' face, and saw his eyes, the stress level went down: he's on his way to greater relief! Love you BOTH, and big hugs! I wish i had a ton of money to throw at you so you can continue to help these poor creatures, but, I don't have any. But I am subscribed and I hope your channel will get bigger, and your name in the community will mean you are respected for your love of the helpless. Oh i love that dog! I wish I could bring him home! His eyes are very deep! And i see he wants to be a conservationist by going after any trash laying around and he picked up the plastic bottle to dispose of it properly! hahahaha! Very good boy because of being handled by very good groomers!

When the dog gets your treatment it is like winning in a lottery! I think it is important too that the dog gets the feeling a human being takes care for the matted fur.
