I was a stay at home mom in the 80s . My 3 kids still tell me how glad they were to know I was there if they needed me during school or after school.
@creinicke1000 Жыл бұрын
stay at home mom is definitely a hard job... having a partner that values you is vital. don't forget to tell her at least twice a week that you appreciate her... and when she tried to go back to work, or prefers to do other things in her life that you support her in it. Oh.. and Dinner is ALWAYS GREAT! my hubby learned that early on to always say.. "great dinner".. no matter if it was or wasn't. And.. I had 3 kids.. as they got older and were able we had them do dinner chores so I could sit down (I'm the mom) One swept, one would wipe table, one would put the dishes in the dishwasher.. I'd recommend starting on a chore list that isn't for anything.. just chores of being in a family. I know it's easier to just do it when they are young, but when they are 10 and 12 you will really appreciate that they finish up after dinner and you can rest. We also tried to do a "What did you do at school, or during your day discussion" at the dinner table.. Just ideas that I personally found so enjoyable when raising my kids. You both remind me of my adult kids and their families.

ITA! Plus, I hated being the "bad guy" who had to discipline, since my husband was not at home all day. I actually had a post-it note next to my toothpaste that said, "This is probably the most important thing you will ever do", as inspiration. It's thankless being a SAHM, but it has more value than we're credited.

The tree always looks "small" or small enough until you actually get it in the house. My son's family cuts their tree down every year. After about 10 yrs they started cutting the smaller trees. As a SAHM of 25 years, I will say that it can be a thankless job on the day-to-day but I can also say those were the BEST 25 yrs of my whole life. Being able to raise my own kids, being home for homework, carpools, and sports was a joy and a privilege. It can be challenging when they're still little Megha but it will start to get a little easier and you will find great joy in raising those boys and especially in all of their everyday antics. (mom of 4 boys....and finally 1 girl). You guys are awesome and I really enjoy your regular life content. Keep up the great videos, Matt and Megha.

So happy to see this video. It reminded me of a Time when my husband and a neighbor went to cut us a Christmas tree in a local forest. Out in the woods the trees look smaller than you think, and then when you get it home, ours took up 1/2 the living room😂😂😂 We ended up putting the tree in the front yard and decorating it for the neighborhood. We ended up with maybe a 3 ft tree in our living room! Your tree is gorgeous! Keep it watered.

Love the tree! Your kids have transformed! They are getting so big. It is a ton of work raising kids. I was a stay at home mom for about 6 years out of all my working years because of issues with one of my son's health. I can say those were my most tying times... i worked for attorneys, and that was easier! I do have a few regrets about having my kids raised by private sitters, but I wanted to help share the financial load. Life is so expensive. I hope you're be making more videos soon. I sure do miss seeing them! Best wishes with your new home and new life in Michigan.

So cute!! I was wondering what had happened to you all. Weirdly it popped up on my Instagram today. You boys are adorable and glad you have moved to the country. Great way to raise kids. We have a cookie party every year before Christmas. I collect cookie cutters. I make the dough and the frosting and turn out garage into a cookie cutting work shop. I’ve done it since my boys were little. Now as grown men I still do it. Invite their friends and we make cookies, drink cocktails and have a buffet table with appetizers. I am in the kitchen backing the cookies the kids make and visiting with parents. So much fun. Everyone goes home with some frosted sugar cookies. It’s a blast. Merry Christmas❤

I started following you guys 7+ years ago for Keto content. I dabble on and off of keto still, even though it became more mainstream I still remember you guys as Keto Pioneers. Yes there were others before, but you made it worth tuning into each video, each recipe. Nice to see you guys doing well, with family and all. It's not really about Keto anymore, this whole life thing, we all know its not sustainable 100% of the time anyway. Its cool you still post, many have clearly stuck around. Video idea for the OG fans, you guys should react to some of your most popular vids. Keto related. How cool would it be to know what you think of it now, or maybe some behind the scene things from the vids if you remember them. Just an idea. See you next video. Sorry this was so long.

I noticed in one of your past videos you were letting your basil flower(go to seed)... but just a little info... if you pinch the flowers off as soon as you see them coming on, the basil will just keep growing beautifully... but you must keep a watch on it like at least every 3 days or so & keep those flowers pinched off. Mine grew sooo tall... it was amazing! One of the best garden channels & is simple, but so informative with a lot of "shorts," is SCAREDY CAT GARDNER". I just love this woman's channel. 😂

I was lucky to have had both of my children while living in Germany. My job gave me return rights after 3 years family leave. Often families split 1.5 year for each parent. The first 3 years are very important & you are setting the child up for life. If a father chooses to take 1.5 years he'll end up being much more involved in all home things and it benefits not only the children but the relationship. The 3 year family leave program is common in all industrialized countries except of course here in the US. Something to think about why all of you young families should be politically engaged in your communities & of course vote!
