I have a friend who had super long hair. She cut about 10 inches off. She said that there was no sense in have long hair if you couldn’t where it out and styled. Prior to getting her hair cut she always wore it in a single, long braid or ponytail. Now she styles it in so many ways since it’s more manageable. I get it.

Kylo Den I HATE that. I have long hair with no perm and every time I ask for a sew in my hair dresser makes it a point to let EVERYONE in the salon know that I want a weave and then I get “why??? Your hair is so long!!!” Or “ if I had your hair.....” For me, weave is CONVENIENT and keeps me from manipulating my hair. Plus I like color and it’s easier for me to dye weave than my own hair. People want what they don’t have. Talk to ANY person with long hair and I bet they will tell you what a pain in the ass it is to have long hair.

@@Sixxdee9 I get asked the same question, "your hair is so long, why do you want a weave" people with short hair don't understand, that our hair is very fragile and if we're constantly, combing, brushing, manipulating our hair every single day, it will eventually break off, that's why I occasionally, wear weave and wigs to protect my hair from breakage and to maintain my length.

I’m growing it out again but probably won’t allow it to get longer than bra strap length. Point being from my experience, if your hair grows quickly and you cut it, it will require more maintenance.

I doubt she’ll regret cutting it. My hair got the longest it’s ever been last year (37 inches) and I was over it. It was healthy and thick but just too much. I cut 17 inches off and was at bra strap length. I have zero regrets cutting it. I love the shorter look, my curls are popping more than ever and it takes half the time and half the product to do. Enjoy your hair in every stage. Long is nice, but so is shorter and it is much easier to maintain.

My hair was about that length all my life. When I got to high school I actually decided to get a blunt bob and I loved it. It was easier to wash and detangle and I had more volume. My curls had lift and fullness. It grew back in a couple years and I cut it again. Not everyone associates hair length with beauty 😂 once you have it you’ll realize it’s still your hair regardless.

If she’s cutting it because it’s “damaged” (and it definitely looks over-manipulated at the front of her head), long or not; unhealthy, is unhealthy! And there IS a such thing as “unhealthy long hair!”😳 SUM oF #us have a very distorted view of what #goals should be?🤷🏾‍♀️ Out here “judgin books by a pretty cover.” The #cut is a decent start though.
