Nice job on the pair valve mod. First person I've seen fabricate their own reed valve covers. Like you said since you had the hour and the Steele why not make them. Great job of cutting, grinding and smooth the covers. Obviously you can use shop tools very well. That was a perfect fit and I think a sweet savings of over $35.00 dollars plus shipping if you had ordered a pre made set. Nice video, and cool channel. Looking forward to seeing what you are up to next.

Well that's what I did with my Pair system. Used the original block off plates and just cut the neck where the hoses were attached and Cap welded it shut. I didn't see the need to spend US$25.00 dollars inecesarily, one good aluminum rod cost like $2-3 dollars for two

Boy I'm glade I found your channel. I have an 02 VTX 1800 with a fuel leak. I will try to describe the problem best I can. When I start the motor fuel leaks out of what I think is a needle in the middle of and below the two butterflies. Now the weird part. When I disconnect the fuel pump elec. harness and start the motor it runs with no leak,when I plug it back together it will continue to run with no leak, shut the motor off it starts leaking again. Hope you can help me with this problem. I did change out the fuel pump. Thanks

Any information on vtx1300 crankcase ventilation on the rear cylinder head valve cover ; vtx1300 c 2008
@two-cargarage2 жыл бұрын
what are you looking to do? You can delete the standard crankcase vents (the ones that run from the valve covers or cylinders to the intake box) by just capping the intake box inlets with vacuum caps and putting a small filter on top of the engine (google search "crankcase vent filter")
@alanarmstrong2323 Жыл бұрын
Just wording what takes care or crank case ventilation?
@two-cargarage Жыл бұрын
there's still a crank case line vent that feeds back into the intake, this was just "extra" stuff.

Does this procedure alter the sound of the bike in any way? Not, specifically on the VTX application, but v twin engines as a whole.

Not that I have noticed

Couldn't you just plug those holes the hoses came off? Good freakin job though! came out sweet
@two-cargarage7 ай бұрын
yep! instead of installing the block-off plates you could use large rubber vacuum caps. I just prefer to spend the little bit of money and get rid of the whole system though.

This may be a dumb question, because I doubt I would have to, but I'm going to ask anyway. Do I have to re-tune (I have a power commander 6) the bike after doing this??
@two-cargarage Жыл бұрын
it's not an out-of-this-world idea, so no harm asking. It doesn't alter the air/fuel coming in to the throttle body at all, so nope, no adjustment needed!

Will this work on my 1800r with a kuryakyn hypercharger in place of the stock air box?
@two-cargarage2 жыл бұрын
yep, this bike has a hypercharger as well.

@@two-cargarage ok thanks. And do you have to mess with the electronics at all?
@SASQUATCH2053 жыл бұрын
Why not just plug the holes after you remove the hose????
@two-cargarage3 жыл бұрын
the hose was large, probably 1/2" ID, I suppose I could have just used large rubber vacuum caps and capped them off. I guess I just got in the zone because everyone else uses the cnc'd plates.
@mrbowtieguy3 ай бұрын
You did a much better job cutting those out, mine didn't turn near out as good, used 3/16 flat bar.
@genegonzalez4713 Жыл бұрын
Instead of making or tracing the originals block of plates to make new ones, Why Not just use the original covers and just Block off the side where the hoses went and walla!! Done deal, just have to cut the neck where the hoses were attached and CAP weld it with aluminum rods
@two-cargarage Жыл бұрын
That definitely would have worked! It even could have been as simple as putting a rubber vacuum block-off cap over the nubben.

Does this give me more horsepower?
@two-cargarage2 жыл бұрын
No, it just cleans up the idle and occasional popping when you come off the throttle. Also, by reducing the quantity of vacuum lines you reduce the chance of future vacuum leaks while tidying up and decluttering the top of the engine
