Hi Pete. I believe you made a mistake this game. You could have garanteed go first and second with white by atacking 1/2 orange stack. I believe white was trust wordy but he needed you to make the first move since you where first in turn order. If you had put 1/2 orange stack I believe white would have ended orange and that would solidify your aliance and you would have beat yellow together next. The way you played, you risked whited getting fed up with you for not helping him and so he betraying you.

u need to be the initiative to ask ppl to help first bro no offense, but the way u think worries me basically if u want someone to help you u would need to pay them, ever heard of pay half first, the rest after the job is done? not good example but good enough

@MrFredstt 2 күн бұрын
@@nic3880 I think there's some merit to both of your points tbh. All comes down to the type of player you're playing with really. Some are more trusting and willing to take a gamble and make the first move hoping you'll back them up and others are more suspicious and defensive and won't want to potentially put themselves at risk unless you show good faith first. What I love about this game is trying to figure out what type of person you're playing with and the best course of action in understanding their style and wants and using it to your advantage

The thing I have heard Pete say a few times now about alliances and friendship is that he is all for it but he is still looking out for #1. So, with that mindset, is it more advantageous to hit a big stack, losing quite a big amount of troops and hoping that your ally will back you 100% or hold back and keep roughly even number of troops as everyone? If he hit the stack, his total troop count would have been much lower than everyone else, which could have possibly made him the fish and made him lose.

@@MrFredstt 100% depends on the players. Trope and Nic - beware of scams! Those deals can go bad as well and if you are first to commit... you lose more often than not. Your "ally" will give you a nice pat on the back and thank your service just as Pete did. White was his best ally and he still gave him 3rd, because ultimately with the way the board was set up, it was in his best interest to win the game. You say Pete played this wrong but I think he actually played it perfectly. Kept as many allies on the board as he could then ended each of their games when the time was right. I think one of Pete's most underrated skills is his timing. Dude knows when its time to pull the trigger!

Your rationale makes sense in the 3 player. If I'm able to work with white to take down our opponent and I have to take initiative in the turn order I'm down. The existence of a fourth player makes that move not guaranteeing anything and Risking 4th.

So I think I know what happened with orange. The bot out was a disconnect or just them leaving to go piss. Then, the fortifying was them (for the most part) focusing on gathering all their troops together and prioritizing the ones in more secluded locations.

@The Kill Pete Strategy - Sorry, why didn't you team with White here to give 2nd? This wasn't progressive where you needed the cards to win. Were you concerned it would stabilize again and you'd eventually lose?

The line of play I took was guaranteed second play for first. Killing yellow and teaming with white risks third.

Pete, wasn't there any way to team up with white to get guaranteed second and first? Like, hitting orange then make white hit yellow? Or do people tend to backstab you when the tables turn?

When you were trading with white and orange, why didn't you send a stack into North Asia to take cards so you could card block orange with white and force them to hit a red stack? Edit: I should add I made this comment halfway through the video. That was a nice cleanup at the end. I just don't have your patience lol
@ryancrouch9918

that was the most satisfying W in a while. I don't think I would've had the patience for this game. Yellow repeatedly stacking on your border and orange card blocking....i'd have bombed one of them pretty quickly.

17:07 this is actually a y-intercept, not an inflection point. The critical point is when you start generating more than orange, and the inflection point is when your troop generation starts catching up to orange's troop generation.

Appreciate the kind words brother! That last bit is about ratios and positioning, and a little bit of luck. If the Australia player here had all of his troops out then I would have had zero chance to win with that play and it would have been taking second, which I still may have done at that point but him keeping that inactive guard in oz coupled with a sub 30% roll made all the difference

@@TheKillPeteStrategy My favorite position in the game is Europe. It’s a strategic spot-you can defend it from the center, and it pays off well, so I’m always aiming for that. Surprisingly, I’ve had some success from Australia too, but South America has always been my downfall-I tend to get cut off and frozen. I’ve been hooked on this game since playing the board version 40 years ago in school. But playing online is a whole different ballgame, especially since people can quit mid-game. Those bots are such a wildcard! I love watching you play, and it’s helping me improve because I often ask myself, 'What would Pete do?' And yeah, I admit, I have a habit of retaliating for a wrong move against me, even if it leads to my own downfall.

Yellow is the inexperienced player that doesn't understand the difference of playing alliances ON vs off. At least not as annoying as the one that will constantly break with an alliance in place, that is a NOOOOB!
