We failed the soul link once, so we brought a friend to make it easier. Or harder. I actually am not sure which but we'll see.

Congrats guys! Damn my two friends and I did one on Randomized X a few months back through Discord. I still have the server. We lost our first attempt because I had gym 1 with Dragon Rage Kyurem and lost my team. Attempt 2 worked out well, but I had to struggle with my team of Aipom, Bronzor, Stunfisk, Mothim, Shelgon [who died early on], and Meowstic. Other two had things like Zygarde, Taurus, and so on. Then my Aipom became a Return Silk Scarf Technician Ambipom who carried me through and I had to bench him as he was too overlevelled. We somehow beat it.

Mad props for completing this, I had attempted this around 13 months ago. But on HGSS. It was really tough, between failing encounters hand having the same type of pokemon it just wouldn't let up. I did have a few extra rules, such as, there must be no matching types on any of the teams meaning if one player had a normal type then the other two couldn't. Also the starter must be chosen from the same slot unless you couldn't (i.e. same type). Even if there was a *little* bit of cheating 3 player soul-links are hard especially at the start where encounters are so limited.

Still remember my first nuzlock, my roommate at the time and I did it together, but competing with a twist where we had to fight after every gym and winner got to pick one mon on the other's team to eliminate. I ended up with mostly great rolls thanks to luck and research to make sure I hit the best patches of grass I could for the best odds of getting a mon I wanted. The bs part of this was that we also introduced a shiny clause early in that finding a shiny by pure luck means you have to swap (not optional) out the pokemon you initially encountered on that route. I had just lost a battle and lost my only water type at the time and had a bad roll on the route following, but my very next encounter was a shiny Floatzel. My first full odds shiny ever, and it happened during a nuzlock at the most clutch time possible. Roommate was salty, I was hyped as fuck over both the fact I got a shiny encounter and got the exact typing I needed on my team. Roommate proceeded to get annihilated in every following post-gym battle and eventually lost the run while I completed mine.
