You might have better luck rotating the disk at a constant speed, _by hand,_ if you had some sort of cup to hold the top of the pencil upright, then wrapped a string around the pencil a dozen times, and pulled the string - a pulling motion is easier to do at a constant speed than twirling it between your fingers.

Haven't dug too deeply through the comments to see of anyone else had this idea.. But BIG recommend for anyone who is reading this mid-watch, as you can't really do this after you've "spoiled" the video for yourself, after the first watch. I found a way to have additional fun viewing the video, was to obscure the bottom left corner of the screen, granted I'm watching on my phone, so I couldn't see the artist or name of the song playing myself, either. And seeing if I could recognize any of the songs before or even if the app couldn't. I personally didn't recognize any of them, ofc Imagine was a given but I heard them mention it before playing around with it. After I saw the first bottom left corner mentioning the artist and song, I had the idea to start playing along myself. Although didnt help that I wasn't familiar with every song even after going back and re-watching with the answers. So there were times I never would've known the song regardless of the quality of fidelity etc. I also just tried to pay really close attention to if I could make out any of the lyrics. While it was moreso of a tactic to help me identify the song overall I initially thought, that was sort of part of the fun in itself for me.

The reason for no copyright strike is because you're doing an educational experiment and you aren't playing the songs for profit and the audio quality and speed make copyright infringement somewhat impossible to claim as you've just technically remixed the music which also isn't against any laws or guidelines. Basically, you've just played KZbins game.
