I know that your work with guests will only just begin then, but I’m sure it won’t be as physically taxing as what you’re all doing now, it will certainly be a huge change of pace and one that will not come easily. You’ll all be shifting gears in a very dramatic way. I hope you take a few weeks or a month to spend on a beach on some tropical isle. You all are so amazing, right down to the youngest, and it's so heartwarming to see your extended family pitching in--you are all an example of what a family could and should be: pulling together, having each other's back so one area of weakness is compensated by another person's strength. I love that you're rebuilding the entry door. Doors and windows are like the jewelry on the exterior of a house; it will be so welcoming to enter the chateau through a beautiful panelled door. Now I REALLY hope you restore the metal and glass awning over the door sooner than later. That is what is going to protect your lovely new door from damage in the inclement weather. It will be nicer for people too, to be sheltered at the entry.

Well, bummer is a word that chatlaines get to use all too often; doesn't make it any easier to deal with, though. When I see Jonathan, I see a young Terry. 😇 I remember my Dad teaching me to use tools correctly when I was his age. The skills have lasted me well for so many years and in so many ways. Jonathan is so fortunate to have patient, loving teachers and the scope to explore and grow surrounded by family and friends who love him. I remember when Tracy's cottage was a dilapidated shell, and how overly excited I was when she *finally* had a bathroom.🥳🛀 Someday, she'll have climbing roses over the doors and hollyhocks, but for now I'm sure that amazing woman will be happy to have draught-proof windows. ❤ I'm loving the temporary door, Terry. Whenever I hear you all mention critics who think you shoulda, woulda, coulda done something in a different order/priority... I think how they aren't covered in the smells, insects, dust and cobwebs of ages, experiencing the sudden surprises of disintegrating supports and structural failures that need immediate attention. That, and the project management necessary for seasonal and structural order, as well as financial viability. Why do I think you have a massive white board hidden in an outbuilding with a dedicated project management computer crunching data in the background? Having all this in your heads is -phenomenal! Which leads me to the doors and the (shudder 😱) canopy. Terry, just make a feature of it. Paint the door pink and toss a circus striped tarp 🎪 over the canopy. I'd be giving them something to chat about. 😈Hey - it can only help the KZbin algorithm🙃
