About 25 years ago £30 Ladas were exported from UK back to Russia. Russian sailors often paid for the cars with almost pure and crazy strong amphetamine - a wet sticky yellow stuff that would dissolve through plastic and blow ya socks off.
@SwapBlogRU3 жыл бұрын
Ah, don't get me started) literally all of my cars have been JDM. Russia didn't close down import of right-hand drive cars until quite recently (unlike Belarus and Ukraine, they curbed it pretty much right after the Soviet Union collapsed). Vladivostok is almost entirely right-hand drive (but the cars drive on the right side of the road). I've been there, it's pretty bizarre - like you're in Japan, but everything around you is crumbling to pieces.

I've owned a 1UZ-FE powered Toyota Soarer before. A JZA80 SZ, and two JZZ30 Toyota Soarers, so the Supra in the background always had my interest. How come they used the 1UZ cylinder heads on the 2UZ? Do they flow better, or were they the only heads they could find? The intake manifold they fabricated was interesting making sure that the intake was front facing.

@countryracer693 жыл бұрын
Takes a good amount of time to burn a valve. Like daily driving that way. But bad gas will burn one much faster. We race cars with short headers only for seasons with zero issues caused by doing so. The way the have progressed on this build is exactly how I would have here. Although I believe we differ on break in a lot.

WTH, you are building a CAR, not a Lada?! Nice looking work, too. Looking forward to seeing it in some drifting action. That thing is going to be a BEAST. Easiest thing to do when you get a blow back fire like that is just hit the starter again and it will suck it right down.

The only "super" car I ever owned was a '86 Celica XX badged Supra with the 2000GT engine, I paid... wait for it... £100 in 2000 then I found out WHY it was so cheap, the electronics were shot to hell and Toyota quoted me something like 8 grand for all the management and unique electronics... because the electronics had to come from a special department in Japan the cost of the parts alone was prohibitive and no chance finding a scrapper donor for it so I put it up for sale for £750 and it sold the next day whooops priced that a bit cheap methinks but still £500 clear profit I bought myself a 2.9 MK3 Ford Granada Scorpio 32V Cosworth with the full RS bodykit all in white... lush motor that needed a touch o' welding and some compliance bushes replaced sailed thru MoT.
