The Avalon looks sick , they both look pretty good. Toyota really needs to let TRD do more performance work on their cars. There’s no excuse anymore , other companies have cars with ridiculous power & good fuel economy/emissions... they need TRD Pro models with superchargers and AWD.

they're just so worried about retaining the reliability and quality control factor, but yes, they need to let TRD and GR soup these cars up for these trims, so these can actually compare to something like the type-r. especially with the premium pricing that comes with the toyotas

Toyota sold the TRD Aurion in Australia which came with a supercharger and made around 320hp. Lotus uses the 2GR engine in their Evoras which range from a naturally aspirated 2GR engine to a supercharged version making around 420hp.

42K for a full sized, entry level lux sedan car, w/TRD oriented mods isn't bad. My dad has the "sport" trim (it's a set of three letters that I can't remember instead of "sport"), and it feels worth the price it was at.

I'm glad they made v6 drive more sporty than just a straight line, floaty car. The only downside... I wish this didn't come at the expense of 40/60 slit. Also, at that price point if I only care about performance, I'm sure the Q50, G70, and Stinger may offer more performance at the same price point.

A TRD badge only means it will look sporty, there’s nothing done to make it go faster. But, they say this is the least expensive way to get a Camry with a V6, so that badge doesn’t mean it’s the top of the line trim.

Toyota's been hunting at a possible Camry and/or Avalon TRD for some time. And one thing I'm learning, is that it starts off good, and room for performance mods are left, making it more upgradable. Thus how more money is made. Though a manual option should have been available for the Camry TRD. Just saying

Basically a Lexus ate a Toyota Camry and for it to eat it whole it had to get a bigger grill. So you can say somehow a Toyota fuse into a Lexus when it was getting eating and it evolve to a Avalon.

Avalon TRD = Poor Man's M5. You might turn some heads too, actually with either car. Like the extra rear seat legroom and it still being sporty. Plus moon roof and fold down rear seat or pass through at least. Sports car with all the creature comforts and lots of space.

I wouldn't say poor mans M5. Maybe someone who's a little more financially conscious, and doesn't wanna get hammered with the maintenance of the ultimate driving machine. I had a 3 series this summer as a loaner, it was great engine and very sporty. But seats were way to firm, sat way to low and the gear box was a total eye opener. I do like the 7 series though, they've come along way. But im a yota lexus dude, so I'll stay in the family with my larger discounts.

@@davidlusk4350 The Avalon is about the size of a 5 series, thus I would compare it to maybe a 540i as that has a six cylinder and about the same size while 3 series is more compact. Not really a direct comparison though as these are front wheel drive platforms and don't offer all wheel drive, which is something they should definitely offer as an option.

Leave the civics for the teenagers and early 20 somethings who are looking for cheap fun. If you buyv these cars you want lil more sportier handling but still love larger smoother rides. It might be upped. Toyota isnt releasing the numbers. Just like with the supra, the hp wasnt what it was actually stated to be. It might have more hp than the regular Camry v6. We just have to wait and dyno it to find out

The Camry especially, is starting to have some of the ol’ NASCAR technology start to appear. Mr. Martin Truex Jr. would approve!! The lower valance is starting to look like there is a splitter growing out of it, heh heh. I think the rear spoiler ( which I usually am not a fan of), looks just about right. Nice car! The Avalon is true to it’s market and retains the goodies the more luxury oriented market demands. That grill though,,,,,,, hmmm. Nathan,,,,,,, well you know. It is nice hearing the way you explain things. Clearly and with the right amount of energy. Well done again! Thanks dude! Haha

I feel the same. Plus for the same money, Camry's STILL don't offer Apple Carplay/Android Auto nor cooled seats, which if you live in the Southwest, they're not just a luxury, but a necessity after you've had them! I think the Honda drives better and obviously will hold value well.

Disappointed that the transmission are the same. I read that the 8 speed on the Camry ( and maybe the Avalon) are bad on the shifts and sometimes it feels like is hunting for gears. I drove the 2019 Camry and found no issue, but it could be on higher speeds and haven't drove it on a highway. But everything else seems pretty good. Maybe they will fix the transmission issue with a facelift on both in like a year or 2.

Toyota should have a TRD Avalon or Camry manual with this v6 supercharged and a sportier exhaust. This engine sounds amazing with the right setup. Just check the Lotus Evora and see what they have done to this engine and how great it sounds. Yes it would a niche but the would sell at a premium !

Aww man I want that Avalon! Love that big grill! 😍 if my 2015 se Camry hybrid was higher up in mileage I would sell it and get that beaut! Wish it came in the blue crush color, but that red looks amazing too. I like the Camry TRD too but I refuse to have a white vehicle.

Camry is a beautiful car but live without the TRD pkg. The Avalon on other hand would go for love the sporty looks and style of it. I really like the Avalon over Camry seems be better looking as want more for the money buying a car like Avalon that red make it look gorgeous on outside.
