The cows are all looking good. the little white calf really stands out in the black herd.
@megslittlehouseinthecountry15 күн бұрын
It looks like the prior rancher used a Charolais bull for their clean-up bull. So you could very well have more white calves.🤔😉

From the internet…. Although range cubes for cattle are often cylindrical in shape, they are called "cubes" because of the manufacturing process where the feed is pressed into small, uniform, block-like shapes that resemble cubes, even if they are extruded into a cylindrical form during production; essentially, the term "cube" refers to the intended shape and consistency of the feed rather than the exact cylindrical form it may take after extrusion
@williamsanders280814 күн бұрын
And the originals were square shaped, but the cylindrical ones are more economical to press.

Thank you for the update on all the animals. I just love Snowflake! Her and her mommas colors are so different and way cool! Snowflake sure stands out! She has such a pretty face. I love Charolais. They are kinda dainty but stocky lookin at the sametime. Charolais have a kinda sweet looking face with long eyelashes! Not to sure if hers are but most are so cute. I'm still very partial to the Highland cattle. That was one of the big reasons I came over to your channel in the first place. But I have grown to really love your channel for your family, the way you live your life, and love the Lord. Anyway, love y'all, the family, animals and the farm. God bless.😊❤

Ice cubes are cubes, but some are round too!😊
@JessicaStinson-og1rq15 күн бұрын
Back in the early 70s we fed our cattle. Those same range cubes and they were shaped like cubes there was a mill in the in the county where I lived which was imperial County in Southern California that produce them and they were extruded out of some a whole Square normally broke up. They could be a little bit different and links, but they were all cube shaped so maybe the name just stuck even when people produced round ones.

Dang it, I missed a live. Oh well, always watch the replay. The white calf is adorable-Miss Snowflake. It is great to see all the cattle. Raised on a dairy farm and I miss the animals. I DO NOT MISS MILKING COWS though. We had all Holsteins. I do want animals, not sure if 15 acres is enough. My want though is to feed out them, pigs and beef, and chickens. With the chickens it would be for eggs, which I hardly ever eat, but I love to bake, just have no one to do any baking for but myself. Best wishes for Cassie and her team. GOD BLESS, keep warm as temps are dropping here and sounds like for all of you too.
@paulet368215 күн бұрын
You could sell extra eggs to neighbors and friends. Maybe sell baked goods too, or breakfast burritos. It may offset some feed costs. If you can, go to Grandpa Doss Farms. They keep animals for pets but have had 2 pigs, 17 chickens, and 5 goats on 5 acres. They recently purchased a little more. His son had cows on that piece of land a few years ago. Good luck, wish I had land.

Range cubes, when I was growing up, were square/rectangle shaped. The round ones were found to be more economical to produce. But since they both use the same feedstock, they are still called cubes.

The most interesting was Jamestown settlement and Colonial Williamsburg. We also went to the Ford theater, Jefferson Memorial, tour of the capitol, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, only visited 2 floors of the holocaust museum, went on a dinner cruise on the Potomac river.
