Neat channel, I love your knowledge, the context and historical clips you give the viewers. I understand you are there for a limited time and digging towards your own collections, but please dig up that history with care! It doesn't help that most governments do not allow people to dig up archeology so it lends to people just going there for the day and digging out quickly what they can find without being able or allowed to spend the time to conserve a site properly. I imagine this is the reason why you do not show your faces as well. I was also wondering/suggesting if you ever find personal items that you could research and trace back to ancestors that perhaps have never had closure about their relatives. You guys could put together some great feel-good content that way!

1st off, I love your work and what you men do to preserve and honor our war dead. Now about the U.S. jeep in one of your previous episodes, 11 November 1940 was when the 1st Willy's Overland rolled off the assembly line, they beat Bantam out on a bid for the Army's Quartermaster Corps, ending the Bantam BRC and BRC 18. Ok it gets confusing, bear with me. WO didn't have the big assembly lines, so Ford stepped in, WILLY'S and Ford made the jeeps, supply and demand was huge. Ford made GP, then GPA amphibious, then finally GPW, WO had the MA then MB, grills body styles, modifications, paint colors etc.... Willy's has about 47%more power than Ford, everything interchangeable except the engine head and transmission. Ford painted the engine, xmission, transfer case light gray, WO is OD. All a 6 volt system, emergency handcrank, tools, jack etc..., the canvas was a mustard khaki later replaced by OD green, summer top and winter tops with sides. Willy's continued on til after the Korean War, Ford pitched a fit, payoffs, kickbacks and bribes, union bosses etc... Ford came back in with the M151 series for Vietnam. They had a bad reputation for flipping over due to the independent suspension, stolen from the Germans by Ford. Anyways a short history on the 1/4 ton combat reconnaissance car.

I'm from the USA , and unfortunately, we do not have the amazing opportunities you guys do , to go to places like this. Your videos are great, and you are very educated on all the finds. One thing I have noticed though, is that there does not seem to be a lot Allied weapons found, except hand grenades. I have not seen allied firearms found on any of the videos I've watched, regardless of who is digging. Just an observation though. Keep up the good work !
@mdww2battlegrounds
@mdww2battlegrounds 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Milton, thanks for appreciating! That observation is correct. I have seen some M1's being found, but me and my team have never found US weapons. I think in general less US weapons were lost because overall US was the winning party and has spent less time on these battlegrounds than the Germans. The Germans were there for years while the US army was advancing relatively fast. Maybe this sheds some light on your thoughts. Cheers!

All I've ever wanted is to be able to get some sort of cool artifact from the era. Watching your videos, allows me to dream and I thank you for that sir. P.S my dream item that I hope to one day to find is any sort of German trench lighter. Very nifty pieces and I hope when that day comes I'll be able to restore it lmao.

@@mdww2battlegrounds No, I don't think it sounds better, in fact it sounds "arrogant" if not selfish, the other person should always be mentioned first - the way you mention it, it sounds like that you are the important person. Coming from NL myself, my parents and my grand parents have always drummed that into me. Another thing: you often mention that a text is not "readable", this should be legible or illegible, just a bit of a lesson in the English language. Yes, I am an educator and would love to help you where and when I can. Bruno.
