Shae, thank you so much for showing the entire dental visit! I had no idea how important dental care is to a horse! Actually, until I started watching FSE videos, I didn’t even know there was such a thing as Equine Dentistry! I am truly blessed to have found your channel! I don’t have horses, but if my grandchildren ever do, I will know which direction to steer them for excellent equine care. God Bless you, your family and all of your animals. You are a blessing for so many!

I have always said you can buy a horse for pennies, but it's the upkeep that cost the most. That's what some people don't realise. They think that as long as they have hay, grass, and water, they will be fine.

I’m so happy it wasn’t anything serious Shae. I don’t think people realize how important the dentist is for horses. Just like we should see our dentist for teeth cleanings, so should our horses. Your vet/dentist is awesome Shae. 🐴💕

So pleased for you and Dodger that there is nothing too serious dental wise going on for him and your posting this so openly and speedily is much appreciated. Your respect and consideration for the welfare of all your horses is reflected in your choice of equine dentist/vet, along with transparency and choice in spending wisely over cheapest option with all that you do is really helpful with the reality of the true costs of horse ownership. Your horses look cute whether caked in dried mud or gleaming from their great grooming

Fascinating to watch. Also makes me quite sad to know, that before horse tranquilizers became a thing, a lot of horses probably were in pain from tooth issues for the latter half of their lives. I mean, you wouldn't even have been able to properly look at their teeth, never mind treat them somehow. I'm glad we can spare them that now!

He must feel better. So glad. I do animal bodywork and he is def chewing better. Those muscles have to rebalance but he is on track.
@fleetskipper1810Ай бұрын
I got an off-the-track thoroughbred who turned out to be a parrot mouthed and had all kinds of tooth alignment problems. After a good equine dentist saw him, the change was truly remarkable. The dentist thought that he was suffering from TMJ just like humans do, and that it explained a lot of his unhappiness with being bridled and bitted. Back then, I did not know about bitless bridles, but the dental work inspired me to go on a long and exhaustive hunt for a bit that he could comfortably carry in his mouth. Seven bits later, I finally found one . Each horse’s mouth that you need to observe and be open to experimentation until you find what they want. Anyway, I can’t say enough good about equine dentistry. It can literally change your whole relationship with your horse.

So nice to learn that the horses didn't have too bad a problem with their teeth. Dodger was so lucky that you were able to buy him and that he had someone that cared enough to have his teeth checked and that his teeth weren't real bad. Now maybe he'll be able to put on some weight and muscle and be a happy horse especially when he gets to be out and running around with some of the others. Thank goodness you knew a vet that also knew how to check and take care of what was needed with their teeth. Those puppies were sure cute. Koa had some playmates for awhile. Happy trails to you and God bless.

That's great news about Dodger. This is why quarantine is so important. He showed no signs of having a URI but has one. And being in quarantine, he won't pass it on to any of the others. And he can get better faster because he isn't stressed from meeting a new herd and figuring out his place in it. That's a win, win. My vet also does my horses teeth. I would rather have a veterinarian do the work in case anything goes wrong when the horse is under sedation, and they can also do an exam and treatment if needed. I absolutely love my vet. Yay! Your horses are all set for a while now. And Dodger's teeth are all fixed. They're all gorgeous babies. Mud and all. 😆 ❤❤❤
