@Bink Right. One is fortunately just to have a studio apartment these days while tons of people camping out in the freezing cold. We think we need to do up tiny house communities, but our laws and government don't actually best serve and represent the common majority. Did you show the smaller bldgs around the courtyard? Elevate that knee! Ice it. Cortisone shots and maybe an elastic wrap. My knees started that last year and popping out of place. Xrays showed no cartilage left so surgery recommended. I use velcro knee pads for garden work lol. A walker temporarily takes the weight off, pain med, cortisone shot. Quick tips, temporary relief until surgery maybe. I know the pain you're in it's awful! Wear a wrap when you do lots of walking and steps until a more permanent solution is decided. Hugs!

The third floor looks to me as the old servants quarters. The nice big room that had a hat on the desk, bathroom and sitting room with the curved sofa, would probably have been the butler's, as butler's usually had the largest and most ekstravagant rooms of all the servants quarters. The second largest would've probably have been the housekeeper's room, as both the butler and the housekeeper had the top rank of the servant staff in the household, and ran the rest of the staff for the family they worked for. And thus was in high regards with that family. - Good seeing you wearing a mask. Old houses like that can be quite dangerous with the mold, but worst if they have had victorian wallpapers with led or arsenic in them. Some just had new led or arsenic free paints or wallpapers put on top of the highly toxic wallpapers, and when those wallpapers are exposed to moisture and mold, they become a *very* serious health hazard. On another note, shame that the house has been left to decay. Hope it can be saved. And honestly, I like that you haven't said exactly where the house is, so that it at least won't be raided and destroyed by people who might've watched this.

As you were taking us on this beautiful tour, I could imagine children playing hide and seek in that castle. It would take forever to find someone if you were the seeker! So many places to hide in there!! My heart is broken for the family! I know their pain so well and I grieve with them! I totally agree with you... I wish people would have courtesy and respect when they go into abandoned places! Thank you so much for this beautiful tour of a castle right out of a fairytale! Please stay safe! Be well, and take care of that knee! Sending love from the USA!! ❤

I know you were in a lot of pain and I really appreciate your effort to get this video for us, but I do have one critique, if you could go slower and show the details of furniture, artwork, architecture & what's on the surfaces. I personally would be very grateful. I hope the knee is almost well so you can get back out there and explore. Great video 💜🙏👍💜

I was "amazed" at all the beautiful, colorful and different wall paper in every single room! Not one the same!!! I appreciate the Respect you give your Exploration. It's just a shame that France doesn't have a National Trust like England has and the US has Historic Societies that take these old jewels and care for them. This would make a wonderful hotel or bed and breakfast place. How far from Paris is it? Thank you. Hope your knee is much better now...

I know I’m late seeing this 10 month old video. My oldest daughter and I only recently discovered videos on abandoned places, and we are loving them! My first thought is this...it wouldn’t hurt to take a little more time in a place like this. There’s so much to see. The quicker camera work is hard to focus on. I feel that those who love watching these will be fine with you taking a bit more time in such a large home. Of course, I don’t know if you have time constraints or not, but if you don’t, then go for it! Please know I do love your work. I love the respect you have, and the care you take. It comes through in the videos! Be careful out there! I hope your knee healed up quickly! Much love!

I enjoy the architecture, furniture, photos and learning about the rightful heirs. I feel uncomfortable watching them opening purses, wallets, boxes of the papers that the heirs should be privet to. It would be super if some tv show would look for the family and learn the real story.

Thank you very much for showing this . My husband and I always wanted a place like this to buy, years ago. It never came so far. 😥 I like it also very much. Indeed, when money was no problem, I also would like to buy such beautiful place. The shaft was maybe used as a lift to take dinner or drinks or so upstairs, or linen what has been washed and ironed. Hope your leg has been recovered now.😘

They will never build mansions like this one nowadays, so why must it be that these irreplaceable gems' beauty be left to rot away. A system should exist that would allow people to reside in such places in exchange for continual restoration and maintenance . . . or just anything that would ensure that these marvels are not left to be devoured by history, abandoned to isolation, rotting away alone and unappreciated. I guess that the modern world has conditioned and manipulated the majority to such an extent that their perception has been perverted and their vision has been robbed of the capacity to recognize true beauty.
@iammagic21645 жыл бұрын
ThinkerOnTheBus They have that in France. You cannot destroy the façade of any old building. The family has to sell it for someone to save it. I hope they do, it literally hurts my heart when I see spaces such as this get destroyed.

ThinkerOnTheBus, they do have schemes in France for places like this. My own familly live in a place and actually get grants from the government to keep the place together. Not as big as this, but older. You have to kinda sign the place over to the state, but the family get to live there. For a place like this, you would need a plan to do it up, then utilise it in some way to make money. B&B, Self Catering, Weddings, etc.

@@ladytron9188 One could see the introduction of modern pieces and work making me wonder how many generations lived there. I was quite taken aback by the card table right outside the chapel! - a rather odd occurrence, vis-a-vis the reverential placement of religious work throughout the house. The place is such a mess inside, deplorable, really, making me believe not much upkeep was made by the last residents. All I could think as he was going through was, "Repairs...repairs...repairs to be made."
