Hi Judy! Thanks for your Wonderful reaction! Though my least favourite song on the 'Rock 'n' Roll Juvenille' album it's still a Banger! I am fortunate to (as of very recently) own 100 Cliff Richard autographs! Have a great weekend!😀♥

My all time favorite artist! 😎🇺🇸 I can and have listened to his music all day! There is a lot from 1958 through today! Back then they were called promotional video, before the MTV days . He has a KZbin channel with a fantastic amount of music out there!!

OOOH... I'll have to check that out! He is still doing great... the most recent I have seen! Thank you for watching.

Sweet! This is one of those songs that still has a lot of staying power. I still hear this all the time on my local oldies station which says a lot about the song and artist. It’s hard to believe this song is 45 years old and Cliff Richard is 83! This was his biggest hit in the US along with Devil Women which hit number 6 and 7 respectively. Yet in the UK, he is one of the biggest selling artists with multiple number 1 songs. Richard also has the distinction of being the only artist to have achieved UK number-one singles in five consecutive decades, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Richard's sales of singles within the UK itself make him the highest selling British male solo artist of singles of all time. Quite a feat! Good reaction!

I did not know all that. Bummer we don't get his stuff over here in the US. Ya, I do hear this song on the oldies station. The clip I saw of him recently... still has a really good voice! SO FUN! Thanks for sharing! :)

@@JudyAdeleI know right! He had some great tunes that the US missed. Kind of like Kate Bush, who had massive success in the UK like Cliff.

It’s always fascinating what crosses the pond. It seems like we are not past on some really good music that would probably do really well over here. Be fun to know how some of those decisions get made.

He was not only famous in the uk but also, all of Europe, the far east like Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. He did co host Solid gold with Marlyn Macoo and the midnight special with Olivia Newton-John ( who was one of his back up singers originally)…he toured over here a couple times but Columbia records over here just never seemed to push or promote him so even though the crowds loved him his music wasn’t promoted. He wasn’t going to spend 6 months or more over here either at a stretch…when he was famous and lived everywhere else! I don’t blame him…I have had to scour book and record stores across the pond to complete my collection of his music.🇺🇸

@@negf22I remember him being on Solid Gold. Good memories. If he was promoted by the record company or the powers that be, then he could have been much more popular here in the USA. Thanks for the comment!

Good Lord! On your list of Cliff albums above in the description, you've left out three of his biggest: "I'm Nearly Famous" (1976) [which contains "Devil Woman"], "Rock 'n' Roll Juvenile" (1979) [with "We Don't Talk Anymore"], and "Wired for Sound" (1981) [title track was a UK hit]. Also, "Sincerely Cliff" (or just "Sincerely"...I've seen it both ways) was released in 1969, not 1979. But all will be forgiven if you play more Cliff!! 🎵

Sorry about the list - I do the Notes, and didn't double check ChatGPT's knowledge... I've updated the list in the description and I will put in a request for more Cliff as apology. 😊

It wasn't fashionable to like Cliff Richard when I was growing up, but his music really has endured. Also, if you're doing Cliff, may I suggest this banger from back in the day ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXiyhmOlbrBrb8k
