Ha ha. Love that comment from Benny " Played some music on the rocks and then swam into a cave." Just a brilliant thing to do. I am so jealous although, I never never liked feeling like I was out of my depth in any water just like you,Emily. Those views where you stayed at the beginning of the video were absolutely stunning. The look around the cave houses was really interesting too,seeing how the locals used to live. Quite incredible. Thank you guys for showing us your Italian break so far. Loved this tour of Italy, Magical places to visit, super vistas to see, but i do not think i would want to swim in that cold water, you guys are so lucky to be able to do these trips the ambulance was a great idea and it worked out so well you will be able to go to so many places at home and abroad, your hard work paid off so well. Shame about the tolls but the roads are direct so maybe that allows you to see more places in the short time you have, you are a special couple, love to watch how well you work and play together. I enjoyed this one a lot! Matera is stunning. To think people have walked that place for 9,000 years.... just incredible. I wonder if Benny got any special musical inspirations from being there. Did either of you get any particular vibe while you were walking around? The sense of history there must be incredible. Considering her fear of heights, it looked like Emily did pretty good there, especially going over that "wobbly bridge" as she called. Thank you for taking us along with you, it looks wonderful!

I have to confess that I was not really happy with your fork off the Narrow-boat and into the van. Bring back all the pasta, as you say. The hard bread is for making Ribolleti. A bean soup, with fried onion, garlic [remove the garlic before you add it to the soup], and sofrito (little fried onion, carrot and celery cubes). Cannellini beans, or large white beans. I like paprika to bring up the flavour of the veg. Layered slices of bread X 2, pour in cooked cannellini and sofrito twice, alternating. Cook through in a casserole. Super cool walking and swimming, hiking and climbing video, Ben and Emily - beautiful unusual and friendly place is Matera for you. The green spotted lizard 🦎 is known as an Italian wall lizard. Neato.

We have those wafer biscuits in some shops in Australia. My local shop has three different flavours including hazelnut, vanilla and chocolate. They also come packaged in a bag and the biscuits are cut into little squares - it’s difficult not to eat all of them in a sitting.... if I’m honest 🙂

When Benny was drinking his bottle of beer I took a swig on mine... and was surprised when it tasted of cider... !!🤪

What an amazing time for you two! And for us too lol for sharing your adventures. I just have to say that those hazelnut wafers, when my mom was alive she would make them every year for Christmas. She would get the wafer sheets at a delicatessen, they would come in packages with about 20 wafters in a package. She would toast the hazelnuts and then grind them with one of those old fashioned grinders that you attach to the end of the kitchen counter or a table, then mix the ground hazelnuts with melted chocolate, butter and sugar, and then she would spread this yummy mixture on the wafers in layers, and make them about 7 to 8 layers high. Then cut them in diamond shape size for two good bites. She would give each one of us a package of this lovely treat to take home.

Fantastic caves, loved the lone beach cave, it was the best. Surprised Benny was able to walk down from the cocktail bar after those drinks (must not have been too strong) without falling. Matera is a very beautiful old town. Emily as we get older we see the same things (like places) differently and with new eyes. I dont know where you are heading, but if you get near ST Marino, its worth a stop. I was there in March of 1982, stopped at Rimini, St Marino, Rome, and on the way back to Germany stopped at Venice. I wish i was there myself.
