Same as a type 1 myself And I will explain for you Type 1 diabetes The body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. This is a lifelong condition. Type 2 diebetes The body either doesn't produce enough insulin, or the body's cells don't react to insulin properly. This is caused by a combination of factors, including lifestyle and genes. About the chicken in the first "dish": The texture you're describing is probably from not letting the chicken de-thaw properly before cooking. Because it wasn't thoroughly thawed out overnight, the water from the ice stayed in the chicken, making it feel soggy. I also wouldn't be surprised if the smell was from the added hormones or preservatives, since unfortunately a lot of processed meat manufacturers do that.
